anyone know what would cause the plane to exhibit a brilliant glow at certain angles?

Just a shot in the dark, but do you happen to have "bloom" turned on within the display settings? With it on, that is what you might be seeing.

Hi
Yep thats bloom, its only switched on(in the mdl) for the glass objects but try as I might I never got it to look like that...but it was the effect I was trying to achieve though it looks like it needs to be toned down a heap :D .Whats your system specs smashing video card dx ver ?

Thanks John/Wozza
seems much better now. Is that something I leave off all the time for other aircraft or just this one?
didn't notice it before.

Hi Mate
Thanks for that,Your system basically the same as mine, must be an OS DX10 thing
I find on my system the bloom setting drags the fps down a fair bit,so I run with it off (I really dont like the effect anyways :D) I can tone the effect down, but to be honest Im not 100% on how it all works :) It will there for require a bit of trial and error. Ill put it down in the bug list and get it fixed, but I will have to bite the bullet and get a copy of win7 so I can see what Im doing ;)
if your are running it in dx10 mode hows the VC shadow effect?
Thanks
Wozza

I can live with out it. Especially if like harleyman says they drag frame rates down.
Wozza, with dx10 the VC shadows look great, just like any other a/c.
I really appreciate your hard work offered to us.
I just started using FSX after a clean W7 install.
I'm still trying to figure out the FSX texturing formats so I can start doing some paint jobs for your T-6 and other planes.

Thanks :)
I set the VC shadows on and did as much manifold modelling in the vc as possible, but the polly count started to climb. Not having a dx10 os made it hard to see if there where any holes.Id love to have a look at dx10 but after the drama of my recent upgrade Im dreading another os change :D
Thanks
