A year ago I had recently finished convalescing from cancer surgery and it was questionable whether I should expect to still be around at this time this year.

Well, we never know if we've really won the battle against cancer, at least not until we die from something else. But so far, so good, and I feel pretty confident that I might be around for a while yet.
