Howdy I have downloaded a couple german planes that that fight well as ai planes, but they do not have propellers. I was wondering if there was a quick fix for adding a prop in front of a plane. Thanks for any info.

Lonny,

First, let me welcome you to the Outhouse and the CFS 2 forum. I hope that you'll enjoy it here.

Those propless planes are probably made with an older version of FSDS. Planes made with FSDS 2 and with GMAX show their props as AI as well as their props and landing gear when used as infrastructure.

Take a look around for the most recently made version of the plane you need and then check and see if the author used one of the above programs.

If you give a list of planes you're having trouble with here, I'm sure we can come up with some good suggestions as to replacement aircraft.

First of all Welcome to our Hobby!

There might bee a fix for your problem here http://fly.to/mwgfx# in the Extra Webpage.

Like our friend Jag mention there are plenty of planes representing every Nation that participated in WW2. I"am sure you will find the palne you want without having to fix its Ai prop if you really look for it. Right here there are over one thousand AC to chose from. Right now a new server is being setup so they may not bee available.

One thing I have noticed with some planes I download and try in Quickcombat some seem to cause a CTD much more often then others, I am using a clean P3 1.4ghz 366mb Ram (366mb Ram instead of 512mb for Janes Longbow2) Windows 98SE Voodoo 5500, SB Live. This and Vietcong are the only games I get a CTD once in awhile others like EAW I play for hours no problems. Are CTDs somewhat common with CFS@ and playing Quick Combat? Any ideas or tweaks or fixes for the Voodoo 5500 win 98se. Thanks again for your help. I will check yhat extra page out!

There was an old Japanese bomber model (might be a Ki-48 or Ki-49) that came with a "fake" propeller disc that was added as a loadout in the .dp file.

Yes, that was the Ki 48 by Kirk. The props added through the .dp file work very well and you'd never know that they are not actually part of the aircraft's model.

I was hoping that I could use this update for single engine planes, but the .bgl file is for two props. I wonder if anyone could make a prop like this for single engine planes. That we we could add it as needed to those older aircraft.

Hi Jag,

I went looking for the Lily, but could not find it. If you would like to e-mail me the file I would be glad to give it a go.

Regards,

Wasn't there a Do-335 that included an Ai prop for its 2 extra engines ?

Lonny;
I am away right now, but if my memory serves correct (don't count on it!:jump:) I beleiev that in the VooDoo's you have to limit the cache. I believe it is on the configs. that you check and uncheck the limit box. I have one of the same rigs at home and played both CFS 1 @ 2 with no problems. Check your settings on the VooDoo, and I will check mine when I get home.

B 24 Guy,

I'll get that prop set up to you this afternoon. I'm pretty sure that I have the parts isolated in my library.

Which plane are you wanting a revolving prop to appear on? I've done this kind
of thing before, using the download at http://fly.to/mwgfx (http://fly.to/mwgfx)# . :wavey:
