Might be a Trojan or malware. Go to Start/Run, and type in "shutdown -a" (without the quotes) then hit enter and this should disable the timer.

Then back to Start > Run > type "services.msc" without quotes. Then select "DCOM Server Process Launcher" and Right Click > Properties. Then Change Startup Type to "Disabled." Click on Recovery Tab and then Change all failures to "Take No Action"

This should take care of your symptoms.

What you want to do now is find the cause.

Go HERE and read http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic34773.html

Download "Trend Micro's HijackThis" from here; http://download.cnet.com/Trend-Micro-HijackThis/3000-8022_4-10379544.html and run it.

Follow the instructions and post your findings in the HighJack This log forums.

DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING but rather copy your log file that this program produces and post it in the HijackThis Log Forums http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/forum22.html. There will be someone to review your file and advise you further on their findings. Just simply follow instructions in the ReadMe file. (There are also a few other sites that read posted HijackThis Logs. Google it and find others if you like.)

HijackThis is only one of a few fine programs in this search for the offending malware and other culprits.

Pain in this @ss for sure but there is a fix at hand. Hope this helps you my friend.
