Now that is news worth reading....about time these women got the national recognition and praise they deserve. The WASP pilots played a vital roll in our war efforts and truly deserve far more than a single day of recognition.

If anyone in Hollywood happens to be reading this...how about a nice movie about these women...one done with more facts than fiction, little romance since they had nearly no time for social life.

About damn time! It's been much too long, they should have been given the medal years ago! Without question they deserve it!

the story of the WASPs and their counterparts all over the world tends to get glossed-over because they weren't the combat heroes, but without them there may not have been as many planes for the "boys" to fly

For more info you can virtually visit the WASP Museum at:
http://waspmuseum.org/

and while you're there, if there's an extra bit in the pocket after you've given to the Bandwidth/server drive, grab a copy of the SU T-6 (FS9 AND FSX) tweaked for the WASPs ( with female crew). Stretch a bit more and get the CD signed by a couple of members - I did and it sits out front on the bookshelf.

Having read about them and what they had to put up with, compared to their British counterparts in the Air Transport Auxilliary, I think a medal is the least they should be given.

I wonder what they all did once the war was over...back to being boring housewives?

Anyways, they truly deserved that medal.
