The cars I would like to own if Money was no object.....I would have to go with Cars that had peaked my interest in my past.

current desire is a 1969 VW Notchback, because I owned a 1970 VW Beetle from the past which would also be on the list but down.

Ford Contour1997,
Buick Regal 1990,
Williys Jeep 1944,
Kubelwagen made by Intermeccanica International,
Basic Lada Niva,

Just to name a few

If I had the money the first one I'd round up is another '69 Dodge Coronet (not a Super Bee but maybe an R/T).
After that...
'71 Barracuda
'40 Ford 3-window or Sedan Delivery
'59 or '61 Chevy Biscayne (2-dr post or wagon)
'55 Dodge station wagon (I don't care what trim level)
'87 Buick GNX
...I don't know where to end the list......

Most of the new stuff doesn't excite me in the least.

Not a one of em ... sorry!

To get around town? I'll take a Z72 GMC Sierra any day. :)

Most of those new cars have those giant wheels and thin tires. I hate that trend as they look awful to me. When I get a new car in the future it will be utilitarian with decent gas mileage. Something simple to get me around town.

My 2 dream cars are a 1970 Plymouth Superbird 4-spd with a 426 Hemi (Limelight green of course) and the other is a 1969 Hurst Olds with the 455 engine.

Well, I suppose I wouldn't say no to the Maserati GT. I was kind of underwhelmed by all the hybrids and electric run-abouts.

A 39-40 or 41-46 GMC pickup with a later 250 or 292 straight six and a 5 speed with overdrive. Upgrade the brakes to discs too. But keep the stock height and body.

If I am choosing one of those presented on that webpage, then it would have to be the Tesla sedan, last one.

I did some exploring on Flickr.com and found some better screenshots of it. Very nice! I didnt know it would be that nice of a vehicle. I wonder who designed it?

Note, I believe this is a fully electric car. I'll bet it hauls boooot! :d

For the combination of hot babe and hot car I'll go with the CT&T C- Square in photo 10. On the other hand, not even a "naughty schoolgirl" fantasy could get me interested in the atrocious e-Zone Plus in photo 9.

Go to Nurburg- the GT2 and GT3 RS are common place! No kidding.

I'd like the bigger brother of my current steed (TT2).. a V10 R8 Spyder.

Though the Challenger RT looks pretty neat too.

None of those mentioned, it would have to be an Aston Martin DB9 for me, pure sex on wheels.

And if I wanted to cure any constipation, I think I would go for a Shelby AC Cobra

From that list? The Merc SLS AMG, Maserati Spyder or Audi R8 (Though not in that colour!)

:)

Those are some nice looking cars, but I do not care about cars and wish I didn't have to have one so a plain old Toyoto Camry works for me.

I have to agree with sandar. DB9 Volante. British Racing Green with cream interior.

Failing that? I'd be happy with a 911GT3, although I'd never be able to use it because it would destroy my back. Guess I'll have to stick to boring old sensible cars.

My back is already destroyed which is why I drive a boring automatic Renault tourer (sensible, Renault? is anything French sensible?) so I can get my wheelchair in and out relatively easily.

427 Shelby Cobra in Blockhouse Blue

Hmm, from that lot, the Maserati GT convertible, the Audi R8, Ferrari 599XX, Lotus Elise, and the BMW Z4. The rest are either hybrids, American, or Chelsea tractors and hold no real interest.

Like Ferry I would choose the Mercedes-Benz SLS...such a wonderful car and listen to that engine: mercedes-benz.tv: Jay Leno meets the SLS (http://mercedes-benz.tv/en/clip-1124/Jay+Leno%27s+hidden+street+circuit) :)

Plenty of hybrids eh?
To do this in the heartland of US motordom seems to indicate they might be serious about electrics, this time round.
Notable too, the captioning the Daily Press uses e.g.
" Model Kelly McManus of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan poses with the CT&T C2 C Square electric vehicle..."
Babes used to be called (if they were called anything at all, which wasn't often) Kandy, and the bonnet was open to show a 427 cu inch V8.

The Audi R8 would be the only vehicle there that wasn't plain fugly, just fashionable, just frivolous, or a combination.
Edit: OK the Tesla is interesting, too... ;)

'64 Chevy Impala SS 327 cid 2 spd Powerglide:jump: My first car was a 64 Impala. I got it just as Cheech and Chong came out so I what can I say but "Lowrider, ride a little lower":icon_lol:
If I had to have something modern it would probably be a BMW M5 sedan. Very much the refined rocket that one. My ex.'s Dad was a BMW sales manager for awhile and I got to try a few Bimmers out when we visited Vancouver where he lives. Cruising on the Sea to Sky Highway in a brand new 1990 M5 is one of my fondest memories.

Hey Willy,

Man, I thought that was a 1903 Curved Dash Oldsmobile for a quick second. The front foot shelf isnt curved though and no engine boot in the rear. (Its almost just like that!).

You know, that engine is only 'one' horsepower.... eeeks! :d

Yeah, I wish I had my custom 76 SuperGlide FXE back. :173go1:

I didn't care for the "new" stuff...reason being you can't work on it yourself. And, they are way overpriced. If you can afford any of them fine, but give me the classics instead. ;) :d

reason being you can't work on it yourself.

Well you can....but you'll need a laptop, dedicated cables and the relevant software to do so.:) I've carried out most of the maintenance and servicing on my BMW 3 series since I bought it.
I do miss my old classics though (taught myself through restoring classic Mini's and VW's after I left school). I might get another classic in the future....but for now I'm content with the reliability, comfort and safety of modern motoring .I'm getting soft in my old age! LOL :bump:

Brad, my grandfather had one, a blueish grey 49 IIRC. Hardtop with the visor over the windshield and real horsehair seats. Beautiful car, but sadly it had an electrical short under the dash and burnt up. I've never seen a grown man cry like that before.

This little Chevy is just too cool!
This car was built by N2A motors (No Two Alike?).
The company is planning a production run
Of about 100 vehicles..It sits on a Corvette C6 chassis,
Front styled like a 57 Chevy, side like a 58, rear like a 59.

Hence the designation "789."

Of all 90 cars, the only one that has any aesthetics is the Lotusd Elise. It reeks of sexy. But sadly, even it is a mechanical nightmare, not worthy of the price of entry.

The only truly practical car is the Nissan Leaf. Has the entire world gone a Clockwork Orange. What is with the up-swept rear windows on all the hatchbacks these days! The damn things are a blind spot.

Not one Honda among the lot, guess they have it all sorted already.

A Ford Puma? !!!!!!!! **shudder**
That car (along with the Ford Probe) were some of the greatest mechanical faeces aver produced by the Ford Mo. Co.:icon_lol:

Well, from an automobile point of view it isn't that bad of a ride, however I don't know about its durability. I doubt that it's as bad as a baguette or pizza though. ;) :d

If it's for durability nothing beats a car from Nippon.

Hmm...I dunno. The only Puma I ever "had a go of" was the 1.7lt Racing special. The old skool Peugeot 205GTi (1.9lt) and Peugeot 106 GTi (1.6lt) were streets ahead of it in handling however imho.
A close relative bought a brand new FIAT Seicento Sporting (Sporting?...with only an 1100cc engine!!!?:icon_lol:) when they were launched and let me borrow it for a day. It was without doubt one of the best "fun" cars I've ever driven (apart from the classic Italian bunched up and uncomfortably offset pedals).
The Japanese cars are probably the most reliable....but are a bit "soulless" in my opinion. I've only ever owned German Panzerwagons ,myself!:icon29::icon_lol:

Ouch Kabibbles! Thats harsh!

There are some awesome Jap cars out there. I own one presently and its as nice as a Bimmer as far as I am concerned. Its a classic Q-45 and she is a true lady.

Oh, by the way, they dont really have souls.. They are not sentient beings, but we sure love to think they do. :d

Nice car Alex. I know you love the Italian metals..

I have had my eye on this baby for a while now. I cant believe how gorgeous she looks... Almost like a CLS 550.

I cant seem to post pics on it right now. Its the VW CC. I do not know what they call it in Germany, but the CC over here is pretty new and one sweet looking ride...

Had I my own choice, it'd be either: a Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86, a Suzuki Alto, or Suzuki's Jimny. I wouldn't mind a Honda Inspire either, but it has to be the 2007 UC1 model, it looks the best out of all the Inspire generations.

From the link, I don't know it could change weekly depending on mood.

If I could have any car regardless of cost it would be a 1968 Dodge Dart Hemi Factory Racer.
http://www.oldride.com/classic_cars/904552.html

Slightly more realistic, a '66-'67 Chevy Nova http://www.cars-on-line.com/44635.html

I really prefer pre-1972 cars.

Bill,

the VW CC is the new middle class limo from VW
http://www.volkswagen.de/vwcms/master_public/virtualmaster/de3/modelle/passat_cc.html (german site)

Well personally I doubt VW can be anything like "hot":icon_lol:, but if maybe so this is the only thing on their list Iīd like, the scirocco looks great, but unfortunately they made the production-interior a VW-undestructable-unsexy plastic-desert, german car companies definetely have no feel/sense for look and feel. It looks great in the pics (donīt know how they set that up), but downright cheap in real life:

Man! The Scirrocco has really changed! We do not have it over here any more.

I think that CC interior is gorgeous. It looks like a mix between Benz and Bimmer.

You make fun of your own cars. I, being a designer, really appreciate the Germany car interiors. I miss my old Bavaria 3.0S, from years ago. What a nice ride that was, and great interior.

I'd love to doodle show cars...I reckon they got carried away with the theme, at the "C" pillar...

Mind you, when GM showed the Mako Shark, we all thought it was waay over the top, and next thing the Corvette popped up looking just like it.

The CC is nothing but an awful-looking, superfluous abomination. Well said!:applause:

Bill, Itīs not about bashing, I drove VW for 7 or more years and liked the rugged little things. But they were extremely unsexy and unsensual.:kilroy: German cars still hold a high reputation for their build quality, they are still (artificially IMHO) higher prized, BUT in recent years build quality and chosen materials (especially for the interior) became almost as cheap as with other manufacturers. Of course showcars and speciall editions are great, but generall production collections are not much better than e.g. modern Fiats. But they are more expensive, thus MUST BE BETTER! Example: A BMW 1 fully equiped cost around 40000.00 Euro, an equally, partly better equiped Lancia Delta, same class of vehicle, meanwhile almost same build quality cost you 29000.00 Euro. Why??? Answer: German hubris, thatīs what I donīt like!!!

Well, I guess if one could afford it, GM would probably throw in a free cape and mask. :icon_lol:

I'm not a fan of silver cars or coupes, but I sure liked this one. It's kind of a retro Corvette, reminicent of the 3rd generation Corvettes with the "Coke Bottle" body style that were produced from 1968 to 1982. I wonder what it would like in a convertible body style.
