WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The police and fire departments of Palm Beach County have begun a friendly competition.
Seventy deputies are squaring off against 70 fire and rescue workers to see which side can loose the most weight.
The challenge was announced Tuesday, and already they're fighting dirty. A mysterious gift showed up shortly after the announcement in the sheriff's office — two dozen doughnuts, courtesy of guess who? Deputies volleyed back with McDonald's cheeseburgers.
Both departments say they'll benefit from the new contest, regardless of who wins.
