Hey all,

Has anyone seen this yet? Real Flight has come out with the Duke Twin Beechcraft. Is this new or is this the same one from last year?

The bump mapping on this things skin is amazing...

Love that panel too.

Hi Bill, It's nice of you to post this, and the good screenies, but "RealFlight" is a virtual radio control sim and is not related in any way to RealAir Simulations. The Duke has now been available since April 2009!

Best Wishes,

Rob Young - RealAir Simulations

Sorry about that Rob. My oops.

Awesome work on that bird. Those bump mapped wings are brilliant...

The Duke is awsome. I was wandering through PC world (in the UK) and picked the CD version up for just £15. Seeing as I'm on a reduced payware budget at the minute this made my day. Without a doubt the best piston twin dynamics in FSX!! I'm loving it!!

Ditto on both counts, chaders - the Duke was bought with birthday money last year in a sale at PC Wound. I haven't flown it a massive amount, but still love it and it's making me seriously consider the RealityXP GNS packs again as well (although right now they're out of the question... Doesn't stop me wanting them! :d)

Top drawer.

Got an extended chance to appreciate Rob's splendid flight model in this year's London-Melbourne. Thanks to squeeker as well for the historic VH-TKE repaint. Stunningly excellent in all respects.

(A sunrise departure from Budapest, finals into Maumere, "Flying" shot over the outback, and a twilight touchdown at Charleville.)

Nice screenshots MM.

Thanks N147YT for the heads up on that link.

The reason I posted this is that I had seen a mini-pressrelease of it at www.simflight.com and figured it was a new release. Turns out it is an update.

I should get out more often. (And read more carefully).

Great work Rob and team. The Duke is a pretty cool twin. It has its own set of lines apart from the other twins out there. Nice looking bird.

I had the honour of meeting Rob last year, I had no idea he was a Brit, if the flight model has his name on it, you know it fly like a dream.

I love the Duke as well as well as Realair's other gems. I was wondering if Rob and Sean could be tempted to make a Royal Duke addition. It would make a great airplane even better. I would certinaly buy it :D

I sent Rob a note asking about a turbine version and he said they intend on doing a turbine Duke in due course. :applause::monkies:....according to those comparison specs, I wont have to wear the brakes out as much when trying to land at St. Barths and SABA :D :icon29:

Nice! A turboprop version. What is the cruise speed of such a model?

With that much power on a lite airframe, its probably almost STOL, lol... or helo..

According to the comparison chart she'll get to FL250 in 9 mins doing about 4000ft/min. 290kt cruise (I read a Plane&pilot article that said she would push 300), takeoff/land around 1000'...not bad STOL Bill :)

lol she would be a great RTW race candidate, the current piston version would do nicely too.
