Excellent !
I had the previous version, which was great. Can't wait to see it flying in FSX :)

Ok I have installed this newest version, and made a very quick test flight.
FSX user be informed, some modifications are needed:
- the alpha channel of the glass texture has to be edited, else the windows will be opaque
- the alpha channel of the prop texture has to be edited too, for the same reason
- the starter torque parameter in the aircraft.cfg has to be increased to 1.2 (default value is 0.2), else the engine will simply never start

Very cool plane, I love it. Thanks Vlad !! :ernae:

I have just installed it in FSX. From the exterior view the windows seem to be a bit opaque but from in the cockpit the view outside is crystal clear.

Still got to do the cfg file yet.

Cheers

Great plane! Beautiful rendition! It could do with a new prop blur by Cazzie, but for the rest: Wow!

Thanks, Mike.
But fortunately, I didn't have to go there to take this shot! :d

For those not too much accustomed to far-eastern locations:

1. Batteries on
2. generator on
3. Mixture to full rich.
4. Throttle cracked open
5. Magento from 2 to both

Thanks,
Sid

That's a good question.
I had the same exact problem, the magneto switch will not trigger any movement from the prop. I had to go with the keyboard. M to select the magnetos, then + + + + +....

claudius, I have done a new prop blur for the exterior, but all my tries at the VC blue come out looking alike.

Vlad already has a good prop animation ratio, but the blue prop going to black was just not right.

I have attach the new exterior prop blur below in the zip. I think you will agree it is far superior than the default.

Very nice prop texture, Caz.

It complements this beauty very nicely...

Anybody know if the textures for the previous Colt would fit this baby or is it a new paint scheme altogether ?

OK ! I've found the answer to the first question and it is "NO" it doesn't fit ... Now, for the second part of my search...

Is there a paintkit in the house... :kilroy:

Cheers,

Fleurdelys

I finally got around to doing some proper flights with both the wheeled & ski versions. Fantastic flying bird.

Thanks Cazzie for the prop mods!

Grab the AN-2 by Xomer at Avsim RU (Talk about a nice VC). The sound file is awesome. You get all of the funky AN-2 startup sounds. If you've heard one start up, you know what I mean.

Nice shots Flyboy....:medals:

I really like this latest AN-2, it's easy on frames, looks great and flies like the real 'bucket' that it is...lol:applause::applause:

This soundfile on Flightsim is also very good:

FS2004 Antonov AN-2 Sound Set Update, for use with AN-2_SND.ZIP (http://www.flightsim.com/file.php?cm=SEARCH1&fsec=0&fname=AN-2_SND.ZIP). Fixed version by Jakub Winiarski.

Last september I was passenger on a AN-2 in Lufthansa colours. Would be fun to be able to use the same plane in FS. If someone is looking for inspiration for a repaint, the paintscheme looks like this: http://www.airliners.net/photo/Deutsche-Lufthansa-(Classic/Antonov-An-2T/1599257/&sid=954c3c8ba98be5fe68e578f8a2cac738

I wish Vladimir had modified the animations of this bird.
Currently, the external power unit appears depending on the level of the mixture. If it's at 0%, they appear, if it's at 100% they dissapear. Unfortunately, even when the mixture is a 90%, those objects are already there !
It makes it hard to fly at high altitude. As soon as you start lowering your mixture, your external view is screwed :bump:
Nothing critical of course, since the stuff is not visible from the VC. It's just that you have to put the mixture back to 100% everytime you want to make a screenshot :)
