The secret is (and takes no mind reading) that it's easier, and more 'productive' to support a $1 Billion security industry that depends on fear and paranoia than to fix most of the risks. But hey!.. anything to prop up and grow the economy... gotta buy the scanners, hire people to make/man them, have a building full of rule-makers to keep new "ideas" coming out.

As one columnist commented today, one failed attempt by an identified 'potential' with one dud bomb that was 'missed' (screwed up) by one of the largest intelligence(?) systems in the world sells several $million worth of scanners and causes untold delays... sounds like a win for the bad guys.

That's not political, it's economic (terrorism) and the cost mounts.

As I have to tell other FOXNews challenged individuals ... pay attention to the "by line" ...

In otherwords the little bit of text under the heading of the aritlce. You'll find, if you go back and examine this article's headline, that it came from the AP (Associated Press). It was not originated with or by FOXNews ... this came from the MSM, FOX just put it on their webpage as 'happenin' news.

The government needs to quit wasting our money on this crap and follow the Israeli screening technique. Spend money hiring and training better screeners and leave the sci-fi crap alone.

A machine that can read a persons intent by facial movement is a LONG way off. If they tried to field something like that right now, the number of false positives would be astronomical.

Actually I'm not challenged, but I'm touched by your concern, Snuffy. Your really a swell sport. :salute:

Oh BTW, I'm also well aware the AP is a cooperative owned and contributed to by newspapers, radio, and television stations across the country. Some of them FOX affiliates.

Thanks....

Hi,

I'm saying the airports security are not the problem.
Everyone knows that this is not a scanner that will prevent a terrorist to blow up a plane.
This security as shown (and never proven) is just posturing to fool the public that fly is safe from terrorism and that governments care for them seriously.
The real problem is elsewhere.
In principle, people trust their government (at least if it was put in power by the democratic process)

Actually what happend:
All citizens are now suspected of being potential terrorists.
Governments have no more confidence in their citizens.
Why then should people still trust their government?

Methink terrorists have won a battle.

Hi,

As usual .. all those press releases are smoking screens :pop4:
The real problems are elsewhere ....
Today president Obama tell he was responsible .. blah ..blah ..
The fact is some security agencies (in the US and foreign) have failed miserably ...
I not heard from president Obama .. wich accountables people are sacked for this failure.
I remember the aftermath of 9-11
Complete failure of security agencies .. no sacks .. but instead .. some promotions of accountables peoples.....
Are we assisting at a remake in the USA ?
