Too bad SFP1 doesn't run properly under Seven.

Haven't taken to the skies in a F-4 in ages. :(

Oddly I can run WoI (i.e. SFP1 with different terrain, not the SFP2:Israel version) in Win 7, if I run it directly from the Win XP install on my old hard drive! I couldn't however install it under Win 7 and get it to run!? So I brought SFP2 to get my combat fix, well worth it and TK is sticking with his free upgrades policy so you get all the upgrades as the series progresses. Mind you I'm tempted to get some of the others to get the sceneries and aircraft.

SFP1 crashes to desktop after ending a mission.

However, if my mind doesn't fail me, the modded install in question was without the latest patch due to mod compatiblity problems.
Need to investigate.

SFP1 works under Vista, so it should work under 7 too. You have to disable shaders somewhere... I can't remember where though. If I remember correctly, I found the solution on Combatace, or SimHQ forums...

I wish they'd add in-air refuelling and better carrier ops in WoV :kilroy:

All of the Strike Fighters games have been updated for Vista/Win7 in the Strike Fighters 2 series... Yeah, you have to buy them again, but at $14.99 to $19.99 each, it's quite reasonable.

Yeah, TK and crew could have offered upgrade prices for current owners, but with the sims being so amazingly low-priced, IMHO it's not an issue. Third Wire updated the games for free for 6 years, so I was happy to pay the tiny cost for the new versions.

Here's what's new in SF2. (http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=5939)There's actually more new stuff now; that was posted early in the year.
