A close look at the numbers indicates very little real change, and a chance of finishing the title race earlier than usual.
I still think the old system was fair enough, provided it allowed an extra point for pole and another for fastest race lap, with maybe an extra one for a new circuit record.

With Max now gone, there may be a more rational approach to the sport.
