Any help on how to lower the float height of the HU16 (Alphasim)
for fsx is appreciated. BTW I use to hang Jato Bottles on the very bird back in '67/68 time frame at Good old NAS Cubi Point
When I was a BB Stacker....

Go to the original thread for the alpha albatross, and it'll tell ya, I had to do some modifying of my own but I just deleted it 2 days ago, otherwise I would have posted the contact points!

OK. I found an older post on same issue I was having with HU16 floating
high in water. I saved my old aft.cfg file and cut and paste the following
to my new act.cfg. It works see for yourself:

Wouldn't that be something similar to how it was done with the Caribou? Was that something the users figured out or something Alphasim did? I don't recall now.

I hate having to modify aircraft that cost a friggin' fortune. For that much money I want it perfect and with a ham sandwich too.

The outside and sounds with that model are awesome, but I just can't handle the contact points and VC.

You'd think that a more complete Beta check would of been done
before RTM. Alpha makes some good planes however IMHO I think
they rush things out the door for the almighty $$$$.
They can come up with some good planes to make
when they get their "Brain toots" however, they need to beta test
and avoid other outside "experts" that seem to have the fix for
some error that Alpha either didn't
A. catch
B. care
C. know about
D. All the Above

You nailed it buddy. They don't beta test. You should offer your services as a software development team manager. Why didn't someone think of testing before?

Is it possible that a compromise had to be made, and that's the reason the floats are the way they are? Is it possible that your version is outdated and/or pirated?

Sir, If you had not noticed, there were other people that had experienced
the same problem(s) and you didn't "horn in" or chime in or take issue with the others,... oh no no; yet, you take "issue" with me.
A colleague of mine owns a legit copy of this and had asked me if I knew how to fix the problem. I came here because I figured there is always somebody that may have the fix. I appreciate the complement (if that is the way it was meant) about being a team manager. But not the insinuations of piracy....

Fact is that AlphaSim does indeed release things as glorified beta's and they are indeed nothing more than a hyper capitalist money making machine. Just think of the C-17.

And insinuating that AZ1USN has indulged in piracy is way over the top. Don't you people have any respect for your vets??

Tigisfat: your insinuations are lewd and shamefull!!
