Congratulations to Flt Lt Kirsty Moore on being the first woman ever selected to join the RAF's Red Arrows. This story got me thinking. Do either the Blue Angels or the Snowbirds have female pilots or have they done so in the past?

I think the Thunderbirds did or do have at least one female pilot. Not sure about the Blues.

Congratulations to Flt Lt Moore and all the women who have shown the world that female aviators can stand side-by-side with male aviators.

While flying yes...but not while peeing LOL!

Seriously though, this lady has some serious qualifications under her belt. She is a Fast Jet Pilot (a requirement to be on the Red Arrows team) and has flown the Tornado in Iraq and I think Afghanistan. She has real world combat sorties under her belt. She is not just a token female pilot...she is a died-in-the-wool and tested by fire combat pilot.

It is possible for women to pee standing up without any artificial aids C9G (and without getting their feet wet). There are numerous websites dedicated to the practice if you google it.

I have known several women who claimed they could do it and one who actually did it while we were out hiking in the wilds one day. She was able to 'water' an adjacent tree just as easily as I 'watered' mine! ;)

Now there's some information I didn't need to know ... LOL! However you did manage to exercise my brain so early in the morning trying to envision, (before googling which I haven't done yet,) the contortions that women might have to go through to accomplish this feat. :icon_lol:
