Coming up next:

Starting at CYHY Hay River in quite lousy weather...

http://i603.photobucket.com/albums/tt112/wildbillkelso_berlin/c46buff2.jpg

2000 ft above Great Slave Lake...

http://i603.photobucket.com/albums/tt112/wildbillkelso_berlin/c46buff3.jpg

with some nice aurora borealis.

http://i603.photobucket.com/albums/tt112/wildbillkelso_berlin/c46buff4.jpg

Finally made it to CYFR Ft. Resolution.
Fully loaded, I nearly rammed this whale into the unpaved airstrip. Think my brakes need to cool down now...

Thanks to
Libardo Guzman, Greg Pepper, and Tom Gibson
for this awesome piece of aviation history and
Peter Ham and Sidney Schwartz
for your nice scenery set!

Cheers,
Markus.

That's just an absolute beauty, Markus! I had retired my C-46 to the hangar, a while back, but it's obviously gonna have to come out of mothballs now!

Thank you, gents!

I'll have to fiddle some more on neccessary details:
The completely redone bare metal top and its panel lines and alpha shine still needs some tweaking, same goes for the grey belly.

But I think I'll have her up within the following days.

Cheers,
Markus.

Glad you're enjoying this beast! :wiggle:

Great promotional video, Claudius!
Thanks a lot. :ernae:

Nice finds on youtube too, RL!
Seems like I heard the brakes 'squeaking' on one of them, think I'll add this feature...
Talking about sounds:
I think I found the ultimate sound suite for this gal:
Owners of the A2A/shockwave P-47 pack may use this sound, as the Jug was equipped with the P&W R2800 Double Wasp too. Following a proposal by OBIO (thanks for this, by the way!), there's just one simple tweak in the sound.cfg needed:

[SOUND_ENGINE]
number_of_engines = 2
eng1_starter = STARTER.1.00
eng1_combustion_start = COMBUSTION_START.1.00
eng1_combustion = COMBUSTION.1.00
eng1_shutdown = SHUTDOWN.1.00
eng2_starter = STARTER.1.00
eng2_combustion_start = COMBUSTION_START.1.00
eng2_combustion = COMBUSTION.1.00
eng2_shutdown = SHUTDOWN.1.00

Anything else can be left 'as is'.
Sounds great!

Cheers,
Markus.

Has anybody done the Shockwave lights for this great model?

This is my attempt:

[LIGHTS]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing
//=light type, longitudinal, lateral , height, effects file name
light.0 = 3, -5.187, -51.085, 3.881, fx_shockwave_navred ,
light.1 = 3, -5.187, 51.085, 3.881, fx_shockwave_navgre ,
light.2 = 3, -50.760, 0.0, 4.271, fx_shockwave_navwhi_l_old ,
light.3 = 2, -5.197, 51.085, 3.881, fx_shockwave_strobe_2 ,
light.4 = 2, -5.197, -51.085, 3.881, fx_shockwave_strobe_2 ,
light.5 = 2, -50.760, 0.00, 4.281, fx_shockwave_strobe_2 ,

light.6 = 1, -44.974, 0.00, 20.261, fx_shockwave_beaconh ,
light.7 = 4, 18, -1.0, 2.731, fx_vclighth ,
light.8 = 4, 7.985, 0.0, 2.431, fx_vclighth ,
light.9 = 4, 1.102, 0.0, 2.431, fx_vclighth ,
light.10 = 4, -5.932, 0.0, 2.431, fx_vclighth ,
light.11 = 4, -12.869, 0.0, 2.431, fx_vclighth ,

It seems like the retractable landing lights are part of the model coding, so I failed on altering them...
