to install Milton Shupe's Aero Commander 520. What a freaking work of air, and what an entirely enjoyable plane to fly. Wow! I haven't installed the other Aero Commanders yet (just the 520 and the cargo version). I had to plop it into my Golden Wings GA install, which means that I had to extend that install up to 1960 (have a few other post-1950 planes that have tip toed their way in as well).

Now I have to install the rest of the Aero Commanders and the Howard 500....can't believe I hadn't installed that one on day one.

Sounds like the Cessna 337 Skymasters I've got buzzing around in FS 1954. :d

There's just something about the Golden Wings 3 textures that make it so much nicer to fly around in. I like flying low, and most times I like flying slow....though I have been known to blast along at Mach1.5 in the B-58 at less than 1000 feet or upside down in the 747 with the tail just a dozen or so feet off the ground. Having more farms and barns and chicken coops....just makes flying along looking at the world outside my cockpit that much more enjoyable. I don't fly through the big cities...so I don't mind them not being so present in GW3.

Obio, my FS install is based off of Silver Wings which is basically Golden Wings without any of the GW mods to the airports. I like the old stuff on the ground too.

I have all the Aero Commanders installed...other than the AC500 with the wood panel (downloaded but not yet installed). Have taken a short flight in each plane....equally WOWed by each.

The Spartan Executive...such a beautiful plane. Need to grab some more skins for it.

Be sure to grab the skin packs for both planes off of the following site:
http://www.com-central.net/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=13

You do have to register (free)
Then look in the member options section for downloads.
Click on the 2004 section.
Eventually you'll find a section called Milton's Hanger.
Had a few problems getting the downloads to download from what I remember, but I eventually got them to work.
Great stuff. There's also skin packs for the D-18/C-45
Their "big" downloads but well worth getting.

Tom,

Thank you for mentioning Com-Central. They have done yeoman's work at assemblying the largest collection of textures for the Shupe team aircraft. I think there are 75 repaints for the D18S and around 30 for the Howard 500. They have also, with my permission, repackaged all the updates into their downloads to make it all easy. The Aero Commander package is great.

He and his team do amazing work. Its hard to say which plane is the best when they are all so well done. The D18, the Spartan.. So many....

It's been a while since I visited Com Central. Apparently my membership disappeared so I re-signed up. Gotta check out the Beech 18 paint collections.
