Nice Shots! I look forward to getting my FSX install back up and running so I can fly my C-130 once again. I anxiously await the VC of the C-17 for the deciding factor.

Yeah mate same here I can't wait for the C-17 VC, to be honest I have no doubt it'll be up to scratch from Alphasim and it'll be unbelievably good once it has it, the flight dynamics are just amazing it feels so manouverable and is a joy to fly, the Herc as you know I'm sure can be a handfull sometimes, but its still a great and iconic aircraft especially the J variant my faveorite one!

Awesome shots, Peter! I left active duty before the C17 came into service, and your screenies of the the ole Herk are much appreciated!:medals:

I'm glad you like them Quicksand my friend, as I say heavies are not really my thing but these two are a must for any flight enthusiast in my opinion, and really fun to fly! I mean the Herc is so Iconic I never get bored of watching one fly at work or at my local airshow!

Thought I'd post some more just because I'm sort of in love with this aircraft at the moment lol...

I just wish you could drop troops or supplies out the ramp that would be cool!

Great shots, Peter! I have to see about getting the C-130 into FSX as well. I had my brother-in-law check it out, who has had many years of experience around the Hercules, and finds the Captainsim example amazing in its depth of accuracy and detail - and knowing the entire aircraft inside and out, that's saying something! And with a "Butt-Kicker" providing vibrations and the speakers turned all the way up, you can probably even simulate the unpleasantness of riding in the back of the things. :)

Ohh yeah mate, having flown in one myself a few years ago, I can tell you its really very noisy!! I can highly recommend you get this addon mate, but make sure you get the Pro pack so as to get all the variants, its well worth it!

I was referring to the J. And that I have a slight faible for props with 4-n blades. ;P

Been playing around a bit with the mighty Herc myself too; just wish I could find the panel to fire the guns from...?

It's on a shift-(num) key combination or selectable from the views drop down. It's not accessable from the VC.

Does anyone know how to fire the Jato rockets on the C-130T (Fat Albert) aswell? I'm a bit stuck tying to fire them!

I think I've managed to get them to fire once, ever, while other people I know can get them to work (they say!) every time.

I don't know the secret, I'm afraid. They seem a little finickerty to say the least. As they are only an effect, however, and don't affect the flight model at all, I just don't bother with them.

I just don't bother with them.

Nor will the real Fat Albert crew from the end of this display season.

Its a awesome aircraft, during the Panama Invasion of 1989, one of the gunships destroyed, with incredible acuracy due to its electronic Infrared TV aiming system and very well trained operator, 8 heavy armored cars in around 30 minutes while circling very slowly....all this around 1:00 Am of December 21...the video was in YouTube for a while but I canīt find it........

My only grumble is the fact that the CS C-130J has the same 4 man cockpit layout as the earlier models.

The older fleet is well made though, I spent two years on C-130Ks and can vouch for the depth of detail CS has included. It is easier on FR's than the FS9 version too.

Yeah same here, have been in the the C130 J cockpit its almost all glass now, so I was kinda disappointed here also! But you still can't beat its external looks!

You know the big Herc the C.Mk3 below... are there any RAF textures available for the C-130J-30 because this is the model I most think of with the RAF in the J variation but CS only offers it in
USAF colours and I would like it in the RAF livery, basically its the one below with the six bladed AE 2100D3 engines!
