Thanks for the paintscheme. I reinstalled the Kingfisher to use it, I also downloaded Henry's paints for this plane from Avsim. For some reason all paintschemes work fine except the ones made by Henry. Every time I select one of Henry's paints FS9 crashes.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

September 19th, 2009, 12:06
Alain,

The textures done by HenryW are done for the FSX version of the Kingfisher. Therefore they are in 2048 x 2048 dds format. FS9 can't handle that.
When you convert them in to 20 bits you can reduce the size to 1024 x 1024. Than you have to flip them and save them in DTX3 format....

Hope this helps,
Huub

I did an fs9 Dutch scheme but it got abandoned. I can always give it a quick service in the paintshop and release if you want it.

Flying it led too tweaking it a bit too. I am but a weak willed painter.

I installed your atlantic version in the FSX version of the OSU3 and the plane
comes out looking all silver, no paint and all shiney. A chrome looking bird.
I am using FSX with Accell sp2 and the other piglet original birds are just
fine. Hummm......

If what I done too the Atlantic textures works, as I don't have fsx so I have to wait and see, then i'll do the same too the cuban mate.

Wondered why I was not finding your past repaints - seems all 18 of the OS2U-3 are not being found - Webpage missing. Sad.... I wanted the non-USA repaints to fly in other areas of the flight sim world....

It works great now in FSX w/Accel. How did ya do it?
Interested in you other repaints of this plane as well,
only thing is they would have to work in FSX.
I'll email you the thumbnail if you want to repack it for FSX....

Hi Steve,

The shot was actually taken in FSX. Once the "Royal mail" arrived I have converted your 3 main textures in dds format. Except your 3 main texures, including the prop texture are Piglet's default FSX textures.

Huub

Here two shots taken in FS9 (note the lack of shadow!). The prop texture I use in FS9 is Piglet's default with the alpha's brightened 10%. This makes the yellow warning tips visible as circle and makes the black blades more visible as well.
