Does anyone know of a source for small buildings that are usable in Airport Design Editor? (ADE)...I need some smaller outbuildings, utility sheds, small garages, etc...Should be in .bgl format...Thanks!

I assume ADE will utilize the ez-scenery objects and there are tons of those available both on Avsim and flightsim.com, with the majority of those being on Avsim.

GO half way down this page, and there is a good list of them. Most were linked to Avsim so now that its back up you should be able to find them.

Will that SIRP scenery work with FSX? I tried to find out at that site, but cannot determine if so.

Thanks.

Great list. . .over time I've probably downloaded every one of them.

WOW! :jawdrop: I never knew that scenery even existed either! I don't run FS9, but I sure hope it works in FSX. Any advice would be welcome...

SIRP didn't work in FSX the last time I tried it... Unless it has been redone. It used FS9 techniques and some considerable outside the box thinking, so really doesn't port well.

You can definitely use pretty much any BGL library in ADE, just add it through library object manager, but I really would recommend not using FS9 objects in FSX sceneries. It affects frame rate massively on some peoples' systems, doesn't play at all in DX10 preview mode and transparencies cause major graphical anomalies.

I had used the SIRP scenery in FSX< but it was a major FPS Suck whenever I got close. On top of that there were some "crash" issues around airports that began to show up, most likely when it loads the scenery few miles out.

Well, I know enough now (thanks to this info) not to even attempt it!

Hi guys,

I know that Ed started on the conversion of the FS9 SIRP scenery to FSX - http://forums.fsaddon.eu/viewtopic.php?t=1951 - but don't know about its current status.

Cheers, Holger

Thank you, Holger, for that information! I remember meeting you at the 2007 AVSIM Convention. Enjoyed that weekend. I hope to attend another one, perhaps Flightsim.com type, if I can afford to in the future.
