Been a long time now, hard to remember, and it was CFS2, so no bells'n'FS9 whistles. I'll have to digthrough my archives, got a recollection it had something to do with Warbirdlover, but I'm oft wrong, lol.

Bismark13's (William Dickens) Focke Wulf FW187 Falke works just fine in FS2004. Actually, most of his CFS2 planes work smoothly in FS2004. His more recent planes have vastly improved VCs over his earlier planes...but that is true with any modeler...experience brings improved results.

I saw the He-100D just recently....will do some searching find it. I have not tried it in FS2004.

For a plane from 2003! Wow! I only changed the prop textures. It has a functional VC, all the animations one would expect (even a retracting radiator!). The textures can use some added dirt, but are based on good research! Very strange that it has several 1024*1024 textures of which only about 20% is really used!

I can toy with this forever! The dagger-and-hat version is only a first attempt. There is a paintkit needed.

There is a second version of the Me309V4 on Simviation.com. This one has larger texture files, a much more detailed VC.

I wish I could find the texture that controls the prop's color when stopped. It is black and should be black-green. I adjusted for such in my new propwash. The texture in the sim called prop.bmp controls the prop spinner.

A new sound package from Aeroplane Heaven's Bf-109E gave it the DB-601 sound. It indeed stands up well Cees for am FS8 aeroplane, the VC is quite good actually.

Now, is their a good CFS2 He-112 available thay would work in FS9? :guinness:

Oh yeah, if you wish the FS8 He-110D to show up in your FS9 Aircraft not as Unspecified, add the lines in red below to the aircraft.cfg.

On a side note, he has FSDS2 source files for his Mig3 on the OH, he might be willing to share these (He100) for a little FS2004 update? Anyone know an e-mail addy? Not that I'm volunteering, but I could ad a few simplethings like reflective glass and remap any texs that are problematic (prop?)FSDS2.24 only, ain't tried 3 yet and don't want to, it uses the GMAX exporter plugin and it scares me, lol.

It's mine OBIO and Cees . It is no trick doing propwashes and I'll work up a little tutorial for those that have a proper graphics editor for SOH.

The propwash is attached below. Right click on the attachment and save it in a temporary folder. Move it to the two He-100D textures and overwrite the original when prompted.

]Use Notepad Mud, don;t complicate your life with MS Word, which is part of costly Windoz Office. get Java's Open Office, does the same thing, even edits /xml files fine for me. And it's free and unblotted, unlike MS Office 1007.

Notepad and Wordpad both should be in Accessories and are part of any MS OS. If your .cfg files should something other than Notepad, right-click on the file and click Open With and choose Notepad.

I do all .cfg file; aircraft.cfg, panel, cfg, even the FS9.cfg (ditto FSX.cfg) in Notepad. It is the simpliest text editor in Microsoft and so easy to use.

This is a thread I've dreamed of seeing....
I've been flying the He-100 in Fs2004 for some time now... I also fly the He-112 and Fw-187 with no trouble- I just add a Banana Bob prop and off I go!
Of those three planes, I think the He-100 is the best done- but then, I like the 100 so much I designed and built a paper cardmodel of the He-100V8 speed record holder. What I wouldn't give to see a reworked, updated rendition for FS2004 of either the He-100 (any version) or the Fw-187V1...
I'm anxiously looking forward to whatever repaints for the He-100 that you create, Cees- thank you very much!

Allright guys,

Here's a beta version of my first repaint of this very nice plane. I used DXT1 Bitmap manipulator to overhaul all textures, thus reducing the download size. I managed to get black tires, but I don't know how. I repainted the pilot (partly), gave him a grey uniform and a moustache. The profiel I used is from a book about the Jagdwaffe, from a series of books I always use for repaint reference. Apart from exhaust dirt the plane is clean, as it saw no service at all. It was a blast to make my first paintkit! I can crank out all the versions and even some imaginary ones.

Oh my God. You guys found my plane on my FIL's website. That was the second plane I ever did. I don't have any of my old source files anymore. I'd love to find it. I also did that Ki-04. I got original prints for it from the designer in Japan. His son, a doctor and I are good friends. His father passed away some time ago. It was due to make it's first flight on the day Japan surrendered. We brought it back and it ended up covered in cement at O'Hare airport in Chicago.

Wow, you did find a thread from 15 years ago! Meanwhile another Heinkel He-100 D has arrived. Your model was good at its time, but people learned a lot over the years and computers got much faster, memory became cheap, which allowed more complex models.

A model by Chris Lampard and Shessi. Or actually two models as they did the Prototype and the "production" model (or was it a propaganda model?)

The difference between the He100 D & V8?
I get it that the V8 is the 8th version, is the D the 1st?

V8 means the eighth prototype. D would be the fourth production version - but I don't recall ever hearing of an A, B or C model.

huub vink
April 10th, 2024, 07:47
In this case the "V" comes from "Versuchsflugzeug", a Mick already mentioned this is a prototype. The "V" as in V-1, V-2 and V-3, use near the end of the war, stood for "Vergeltungswaffen"(Weapon of retaliation)

As Mick already mentioned there were no previous production versions of the He100. There were 10 prototypes and there was a D-0 (pre) production version and the D-1, the final production version. However the entire aircraft was mainly used for propaganda purposes. The choice to use a "D " for the first production version was most likely done to mislead the enemy. In total only 25 were build, including the 10 prototypes.

The He100 was difficult to build and the German Aviation ministry wanted Heinkel to build bombers and not fighters. Heinkel also had the He280 turbojet fighter prototype already available in summer 1940! A year before the first prototype of the Me262 flew.

According to www.secretprojects.co.uk, the V8 was the record breaking version.
There were 3 D-0's that were sold to the Japanese Imperial Navy, & about 12 D-1's that were eventially used Heinkel's Marienehe factory defense unit.

There's a lot more info here:
