As a real-world helicopter pilot & FS rotary wing enthusiast, I would love to see these three modeled for FSX.

First off, the highly maneuverable Westland Lynx, Second, the heavy-lift Kaman K-MAX, and lastly the exotic and new Bell 427.

Just a thought.

Cheers! Mike :wiggle:

I think *think* there is a K-max in the works, I think a Mi-8, and Mi-24 would be nice...

The 407 I have flown a bit, love to see the FADEC systems modeled correctly in FSX.

Those look good, both the 427 and the Lynx! Didn´t really know he have Lynx, too, explains why there are some flying around the place here sometimes... :d

I´d love to see Tim´s Mil-Mi 24 in FSX native, still hope he´ll do it some time... Very interesting beasts they are....

Sea King and Chinook. Native models with proper rotors. No wonky wobbly disc with a faint texture paste on top!

I thought Alphasim were doing the Chinook and the Lynx or maybe not!

michael davies
August 20th, 2009, 03:20
Dano was doing the Chinook but events over took that project, Lynx I think was being redone by the original FS9 author, who's deployed a lot of the time and thats trail seems to have gone cold.

Mine wasn't offered to Alphasim, or anyone else for that matter, when it get's a little more progressed I might begin to think about where or how to release.

I do have an HH-3 lurking somewhere on my HD, I'll wheel it out into the sun and make a couple of renders and update later.

Best

Michael

Does it really matter?

The top three helicopter addon developers have a Huey on their list. One already released and two are coming along. Monopoly is yesterday's news.

Grab the now freeware Alphasim S-55 and try that, if you cannot fly that after 30mins practice then you are clearly designated as one who will never fly helos LOL.

Kindest

Michael

Addendum, ohh and if you cant, the FDE can be adjusted to make it very stable for learning basics.

August 20th, 2009, 13:32
Thanks, but renders dont fly in the sim LOL, most models get to the same stage and I run out of puff these days, sad thing is most of the external modeling is done and doesnt take much time at all, 3 weeks for the Lynx in its current form and 2 weeks for the HH-3 above, its the last 20% that takes the rest of the 80% of time.

Still...one day...LOL

Best

Michael

Stunning renders Michael!!! :ernae:

What about a BK117?

Works for me, especially since there hasn't beeen a detailed model done for FS. I was at a hospital in Tulsa, OK a few weeks back (Dad was there) and they had a real nice EMS BK there, the pilots were pretty cool and let me tour it, wish I had a camera them.

Because they serve about 10 kilometers from my home, and I see them over my head quite often :)

Reminds me of the days back in Baden-Württemberg where you could watch Blackhawks roaring out of/into Heidelberg and Mannheim at least every couple of days.
