I have gone 54 years and this is the first time I have heard either of these bands. I cannot say I missed much. I clicked expecting some Kraftwerk or maybe some Can.
There was a related vid of Keith Emerson murdering Mussorgsky which I must thank you for...... not! :ernae:

i thought the 1st group was kinda cool. the keyboard guy kinda made me wonder anew at how ray manzarek ever got a spot in a band, let alone selling records.. the singer had a good voice, i thought.
although, when it comes to german rock, these 2 are what i like best:

Ahhh yes, of course, though they don't really qualify for the label "Krautrock" as the sound is allready too "standardized" and modern.:bump:
Though some really old Scorpions stuff is truely Krautrock.
Like this here.
Note young Michael Schenker side by side with his elder brother Rudolf:

Hi Mathias,
Gamma Ray`s Birthcontrol is one of my fav`s too.
But isn`t it "tulip-rock"??
I thought they were from Holland?
Pauke! Pauke!

Großartig! Mathais, I was listening to some of that Tulip-Rock in those days and trying not to drink the Hookah water.

No, they are German. Hugo Egon Balder plaid the drums in the early days,
you know the guy from tutti-Frutti and all that awfull RTL easy viewing entertainment bull.
BTW, it's Birtcontrol's Gammaray, hehehe. :-)
Pauke-Pauke, Golden Earring, yeah!
Roger on the water, that's why we used chillums.

Doh!
Indeed, while writing I mixed the song and band.
And of course it was Golden Earring being from Holland.
Did not know, Hugo Egon Balder was playing in Birthcontrol before!
