Had a play with DXTBMP and Irfanview and found a more opaque tint for the perspex.

Ive been tweaking it also. It seems that there is no way to make it dark and opaque. The more opaque it turns the lighter it gets.

Here's one perspex version, perfect for anonymous surveillance flights:icon_lol::icon_lol:

Nice tint Roger. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v64/GT182/Thumbup.gif Is it polarized too. ;)

I'm good but I'm not that clever:d

The alpha is difficult to get right. It needs to be lighter to be more opaque but too light and and it looks as if you're looking through tracing paper. The image responds to the alpha but if that's too dark you lose the tint colour, so I'm reasonably happy with this result.

Welcome to the wonderful world of FSX materials.

:d

<---- :isadizzy:

Roger, that looks great!

They can be difficult. When I was first working with Plexi and Chrome in FSX, (almost the same but one is transparent), I lost the settings trying to get more reflection in them. Suddenly plexi was the same as chrome, etc. Took me two, long, full, complete days to figure out my way back in the balance of Alphas, Speculars, etc.

wooooooo....

He he,
Bill I can only imagine the pains you guys go through to build a whole model:isadizzy: All I do from time to time is mess about with the periferals...and that's enough work for me. I'll happily leave the mind-bending stuff to you, clever guys:engel016:
BTW the Tailwind is one of the few FsX paywares that I've found mentioned in most forums I've visited:applause:

Roger that Roger,

Hey, Im here to help if you ever have questions on modifying planes. I like to help and teach where I can. I do not know 'tons' though about FSX. I have figured out some things, but only to a degree. Plexi is one of the hardest things to get right in FSX materials. I remember (and sometimes still see this) seeing people come into a forum for help (dvelopers forum) and ask how to do plexi, and for 2 weeks, they struggle on it. 2 weeks! I felt sorry for them. I created a kit that had ready made materials in it, like plexi and chrome, and people could download it and merge the parts, and thus have the materials in a scene they were doing, but some preferred to figure out the sciences on how it worked and why. A huge 'odyssee'.

If you ever find a LHC pilot needing help on one of his birds out there in the forums, let me know. I try to help everyone out. I only paruse a couple of forums anymore. Helps me get work done, lol...
