Real life workload has been slowing me down a lot recently...but I got some good progress today. All control surfaces are now in & animated, and I got the cowl modified to be correct for the Rotax engine.

The Thorp is definitely alive. I hit a point on that project where I needed to take a break. :icon_lol:
The fun part is that the nuts & bolts that I have on the Quickie are refinements of the ones I used from the Thorp, and I will be re-working the old Thorp fasteners with these (and they have washers!) :jump:

Many thanks for the kind words :wavey:

I bolted up the tail wheel assembly today. I had the Thorp bits in as a possibility, but decided to go with the real thing. This is about as real as I can get according to the plans :d

Never seen such fine details, however don't become to much of a perfectionist and getting tired of making all these details. We want to fly them...:applause::ernae:

So I'm back in the VC. I have not been really happy with the look of the panel, so I decided to try a wood grain version. I think I like it! :)

Love the wood panel Robert. I redid a panel for a Chief I was restoring about a year ago now and it started out I was just going to cover the original panel with leather, but I had some extra pieces of 3/16" spruce, so I laid out a template for the gauges, cut it out, knocked out the gauge areas and screw holes, then sanded with several different grades of sandpaper, gave it a first coat of Clear Coat, sanded, Clear Coat, sanded and a final Clear Coat. . . .oh baby did that panel look awesome. Six months later, the guy decided he didn't want the airplane anymore and sold it. When the new owner showed up to load everything on his flatbed. . .he took all the wood pieces I had done (floor panels (2)), main gauge panel and door inserts and dropped em all in the dumpster. . ."nah, he said. . .I don't like wood".

I like wood Robert, nice choice, lol.

No more yellow knobs!:jump:
Here's the Transponder...still a few things to clean up on it, but I can tune it :d

I did adjust the brightness on this one a bit to help the definition. I might need to adjust the artwork a tad...
