To all,

Just a quick heidi-ho before I drift off to dreamland...

I am currently working on the Battle of Britain, having completed ten missions today. (adding ammo triggers, flight goals, bomber escort parameters, etc...) Because this project will encompass nine (perhaps ten) campaigns and 200+ missions, I will be asking for people to beta test specific sections of the campaign megapack.

I will post in this thread to let all of you know when specific packs are ready for beta testing.

Other news...Battle for Europe and the Messerschmitt Me-262 campaign are boxed and ready for shipping. The delay is waiting for simonu to finish creating a multi-lod model for the GMAX Me-262 that Morton originally converted. This will include a virtual cockpit. Framerates for the updated Me-262 are outstanding, and it will have breaking parts, I believe.

Once that is completed, the last step is to find someone who can tweak the airfile to eliminate the warping issues. For some unknown reason, I can adjust the airfile, but the wheels don't retract. This only seems to occur on GMAX-based aircraft. :isadizzy:

I've also spent a couple of weeks updating campaigns on the Eastern Front, including all of the Finnish and Russian campaigns to include flight goals and ammo triggers, just as I am doing for the Battle of Britain, and have done for late-war Europe. This also includes an aircraft change for some of the campaigns. I will post them tomorrow.

If I can push BoB ahead of schedule, I will TRY to finish that Med Beaufighter campaign before I head back to teach for another year in the fall.

Oh yeah, one more thing....I have "A Bridge at Remagen" and "JV 44 Galland's Circus" updated as well, but have not been able to contact either Frenchee or the Redwulf team to obtain permission for public release. Any contact info would be appreciated.

Thanks and good night,

To your planes, gentlemen! The first section of the Battle of Britain is ready for beta testing. This is a pack of two campaigns, 18 missions each. One is the British side, and the other is the mirrored German side. These two campaigns are the stock CFS1 BoB-era campaigns updated for CFS2. The British side was originally done by Talon, the German side was converted and updated entirely by me.

The missions have been hand-edited for a unique "twist"...not all of your wingmen or the enemy fights have the same skill level. Some might be rookies, others might not be...

As per the usual drill...if ya want 'em...throw me a PM. :ernae:

Remember...the goal is to provide constructive criticism and feedback, so if you volunteer, I expect to hear from you!

Talon's "August, 1940" mission set which I turned into a campaign should be ready tomorrow for beta testing. I will include this in the beta testing package that is being sent out. Right now, I have about 28.6% of the megapack completed.

After that, it's on to Hurricane scramble! and RussBoB. :monkies:

Talon,

Actually, I did. We've discussed this a couple of times, and I was going to contact you once again just to get the "official" okay. Besides, I haven't released it yet, so it's still just on my PC.

:icon29:

Talon,

It's hard for me to tell sometimes when you're kidding. Then again, if you said "hey look, gullible is written on the ceiling," I'd probably look up. :redf:

I'm going to start working on RussBoB today. :ernae:

Hey guys,

I finally got around to updating my site, so you may get versions of the Finland and Russian campaigns there, complete with new goals, ammo triggers, and other final improvements.

In addition, I'll have RussBob ready and included in the beta pack tomorrow. I'm getting the knack for writing increasingly complex missions, so with respect to RussBoB, it's virtually impossible on some missions to achieve a "100 % completed" rating. Some of them are based on an "if-than" principle, so that means that some of the goals aren't obtainable simply because the first event didn't occur.

(Example) If you're protecting a Hurricane flight while they attack Stukas and the Hurricane flight takes heavy damage, you then have to prevent the Stukas from striking the convoy. If you do that, that goal is achieved. If the Hurricanes are never damaged, your goals would center on the destruction of the enemy fighters, therefore attacking the Stukas is not something you'd be dealing with.

The goal here is to give enhanced playability, so you don't play it once and get bored on the same scenario.

Once I finish Kenley Squadron, I may release pack I first, then proceed to pack II. Pack I would have 5 campaigns and 74 missions.

Rami,
there's a problem with your file, Finland Wars 2.0.zip (http://attachments.wetpaintserv.us/RXJuWl0Klk15XJbfdicLCw%3D%3D578181). It's actually a .rar file despite the file extension, and I have to manually change it before WinZip 12 will open the file,

Rohan,

.rar is simply another form of .zip file. No worries, mate. :jump:

Just started the Hurri campaign.

One or two points which may just be my setup. Kenley is appearing in a hole, and for no reason every-so-often my aircraft goes into an unrecoverable dive!?! Otherwise i'm thoroughly enjoying it.

I haven't had any trouble with the airfile....which one is the problem?

Kenley is in a little bit of a hole with the new mesh...but at least it doesn't CTD half the bloody time. It's a compromise I can certainly live with.

Hewman,

I finished RussBoB this morning. Would you like the update?

Good point I shall have to check. Forgot that there are actually two different aircraft in use. Certainly would like the RussBoB update.

As an aside: Is there any way with the British nationality to ensure that a DFC isn't awarded to a pilot before he becomes an officer?

Ian,

I've also worked on a new port at Dover...

You don't like Star Trek . . . ? Either that's a reference to whats-his-face over at what's-his-place or we just can't be friends anymore.

How to eliminate ammo triggers in missions?

Rami
August 14th, 2009, 04:48
Jon0804,

You have to go in to Mission Builder and delete them. I put in the ammo triggers to increase the level of difficulty.

Despite my recent family issues, working on some missions has helped distract me, and during that time, I managed to do an update to the "Fall Weiss and Poland" pack, eliminating all of the problems within it. Ammo triggers, mission goals, and all the little goodies you've come to expect has been included.

However...I can't post it to my site for two reasons...

1) Size...it's 10.3MB. Most of that is videos, photos and UIRES packs for Poland. (Wetpaint only allows a 2MB upload.)

2) I don't know of another place to find this...

Henschel Hs-123 by Doug Westfall, Michael Vader, and the “Moose works.”
Location: http://files.netwings.org/files/plane/hs123a230.zip

It's the only multi-lod Henschel created for CFS2.

I've also uploaded the campaign rework here in a older format a while ago.

If anyone wants it, send me a PM. The same goes for Battle for Europe. The nice part is...completing this project allowed me to mothball my Eastern Front install, just like I did with my late Europe install.

Rami, I have Alpha Henschel Hs-123 with weapons pack for CFS2 only.

Will that one work for you?

Rami

Devildog...

Nah, it's not multi-lod.

There is another mirror, but the download system is a pain if you're not a member:

EDITED: the direct link doesn't work. It is http://www.simnetwork.com/ and then make a search.
