Where the heck have I been. :isadizzy:

The expedition started with trying to figure out who the hot guitar player was behind MJ in all those tour videos that the TV stations have been playing since his death.

Which led to this young lady, Orianthi.

From there I ran into Patty Larkin.

Then finally to Christina Lux.

Really liked what I heard from all three. All very different sounds.

Nice one Tako.

The embarassing thing about that one is that she's the only one of the bunch that's been around longer than I have, I still had never heard of her. :)

believe it or not, there is alot of talent out there, both male and female. here are a couple of unknown girls who are very talented players, as an example of this:

Cheezyy...,

on my new passion for japanese rock music I deiscoverd that - as it seems to me - especially in Japan many bands include female players, much more than in "western" bands. There are great guitarists, drummers and basists as well as singers around there, not being a one-female-pop-show, but being talented members of a band.

I like basists (being a bas player myself) better:engel016:

May I suggest Kaki King. I had the pleasure of working with her last year as her concert sound technician. She is changing the way the guitar is being played and used to compose music. She's young and talented beyond her years.

she's pretty cool. i hope she figures out she'd get waaayyy better tone if she'd just ditch the ovation and get an all wood guitar

they remind me a little of a mix between the 5,6,7,8's and the go-go's

you gotta give 'em props for the ventures vibe they got goin in that song. i coulda posted "woo hoo" from the gawd awful kill bill vol1, but this better.

although when it comes to females and strings, in my mind, no one will EVER, EVER be cooler than 12 girl band

Cheeze, I hope you're just being facetious. If you truly know guitars you'll know that's not an Ovation but an Adamas. And their tone is their trademark.

actually no, i was being stupid. i didn't look closely. you are right, def not an ovation. still not an all wood guitar though. i just think they (wood guitars) are warmer toned, especially when not plugged in. once plugged in, you can have any tone you want. heck there was even acrylic guitars for a while.

Sjeeeezzzz, what talents ! :isadizzy:

That Orianthi girl is amazing ! In her playing it's wonderful to hear whom she was inspired by most.

Su brings tears to my eyes..... ( first vid donated by the cheezy flier ) sjeeezzzz!!..... that little asian girl gotta lotta soul !

Kaki King is out of this world :isadizzy: ( never heard of her.... i should get out more...)
if you see/hear this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shYdqbJgQdc you might think it's Jaco Pastorius' little sister...

While she could be the granny of most of these talented young ladies Bonnie Raitt can't be missed here, can she.... If i'm not mistaken she still plays the baddest female slide guitar http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOpcVtQMSC0

Thanks for a most inspiring HU, FAC ! ( imagine you have to come to a flightsim site to learn about this....sjeeeezzz :jump:)

Cheers,:ernae:
