Just to let you know guys the new gmax mirages are out but they are all quite bad in my opinion, not one vc between the lot of them, and the models don't look right...very dissapointed here!!

I was really hoping that they would have a vc, but no... So we'll have to wait for the upcoming Mirage 2000 from Rollus. (Roland Laborie)

That one will be native FSX and the screenies so far look very promising indeed.

And a Rafale is on the way as well!

Hey Guys,

I'm in the midst of backing up before a reformat, but if you go to the news section of http://www.mirage4fs.com you will find links to the concerned sites.

And if the owner, a regular here, Mr. Frank Safranek sees this thread, maybe he will be willing to lend a hand!

Take care!

Harsh words. For one thing they are free. Secondly this is an FSX forum and the A/c you complain about are clearly advertised as FS9. So you are inappropriate. Sometiimes it is better just to put up and shut up. What wonders have you produced for FS then?

I was just giving my opinion and letting others know about how bad it is, thats it! freeware or not I still give my opinion!

I have to agree with peter12213, this package is a step backwards from Rollus's models. I don't think anyone likes to point these kinds of things out as most of us here are sensitive to anyone's hard work. However, expectations being what they are these days and seeing what is in this release, I just don't expect most people will be happy with it. I am totally positive that Rollus's new FSX Native Mirage 2000-5 will be of the outstanding quality we have seen from Roland Laborie before.

I'm not sure what you are asking for. The download links are on the individual version pages down in the right hand corner (may have to scroll around to get there). The files are huge since there are many configurations and texture sets for each (8 and 21 in the case of the 2000C alone).

Go to http://gmax-ac.fr/index.html and then click on "Les Projets"

They had some issues with the servers not being able to handle the bandwidth demand earlier this morning but that seems to be sorted now. I'm downloading the 4th file now. It's a slow 71KB/Sec trickle but it is steady and the files so far are intact when the arrive.

I've only flown the C model so far and it is fun. I'm not a big fan of photo textures because they never line up 100% but these are still very nice to look at. She flies super smooth and that has always been their intention with this series. The sounds are really good for a Mirage 2000. Pierre sent me some initial gmax renderings of this series several years ago so these have been a long time coming and probably never intended for FSX -- it didn't even exist at the time he started.

So don't bash these too hard in this forum because they are not intended for FSX.

Either way, it is FS9 freeware so it has no place in the FSX forum right guys?:monkies:

I have to say this:
You are entitled to pass informed judgement if you really think it is productive.
You are absolutely not entitled to shoot your mouf off if you haven't read a little about what the author intended.
Spend a little time with a translator if you must, and read what the model promised from the outset.
Then publish your apology here.

I'll say what I like, understand! How about you take the time to read my words, especially the part saying "In my opinion"!!!

But It flys well in FSX and so who wants to argue

If you need a VC-->there is the FS9 from Rollus with little tweak(I think there is an upfaked version on simviation) flys well also (a bit heavy on FPS)

For the rest boys if it is just for Mirage they can either buy the Skysim package(Actually cheap what it offers) or SILENTLY wait till Rollus FSX is released

Roland

This is a bit emotional.I am member of the Starliner/Constellation team.We made L-1649-->L1049 all variants and now working on L-749 and you cannot imagine some thread/email bombardement to get quicker(its freeway!!).I am fine with the ones which help and contribute I get a bit annoyed with the "requesters/can do myself nothing/But know everything better" boys

I like this mirage for a snack as i await the fruits of a well built FSX native mirage. I look at it this way, the longer to build the better and stronger the model is. Unitl then im thankful there are a few mirages that port easy and give enjoyment till the FSX native moment arrives.

I was just hoping that you would be able to give pointers to the new FSX native projects for the mirage 2000 and the rafale, as I am busy reïnstalling my rig.

And I didn't bash at all, I reacted to a post saying that these models don't have a vc, nothing more.

I agree I'll stick with flying these two until we get a native Mirage2000!

Bad positioning of my bashing comment. Not directed at you at all.

Here's a Youtube link of the only Rafale under development that I'm aware of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_AVbc4UNHI

Some additional videos also on that page but any Rafale with a big white light on the tip of the tail (incorrect) is the older one by Gator (still the best available almost 6+ years later).

And some discussion in the forum. Some of the same group that made this Mirage 2000 series is involved with the Rafale. http://forum.gmax-ac.fr/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1006

As far as the FSX Mirage 2000 by Roland goes there are some screenshots and forum discussion here:

From reading the forum posts it is getting close but as usually happens, the real world gets in the way.

Thanks for the links Frank!! Both that Mirage 2000 and the Rafale are stunningly beautifull. Should both get released this year, then we will have a very nice "année Dassault"! :jump:
