This is a pic of the Donationware F4U-4B. I wanted to make a ground attack using Napalm and so this is the problem......lol. I have a crate in my wing!!!

I have diagnosed the problem as this. It has the wrong .bgl or something for the model of this.

wep_pylon_wing_f4u4b_bomb_r

the model associated with this .dp object is wrong......

Does anyone have a fix for this?

Two quick questions Cowboy;

How's the old crate fly?

Are those .50 cal crates by any chance and how do they feed the ammo?

I know, basically useless response however I couldn't help it! lol

I know virtually nothing about your problem but I do have the Donationware F4U-4B. I tried going through various loadouts without duplicating your fault.
Have you changed anything recently that could have brought up the wrong object?
A reload of the FDG Weapons may do the trick?

edit. BTW my napalm tanks are a different color.

Cowboy, do you get the problem when using rockets with napalm or just with bombs?

edit. Beaten to the punch!

It appears only when I load out bomb loads that call for the above mentioned

wep_pylon_wing_f4u4b_bomb_r

the rocket pylons are all OK. It is with just these bomb pylons

Usually loading 250 pounders. It isn't in the the bombs but the wing pylon that is the problem, so I am guessing the bgl this belongs to is the following:

db_corsair_weapons.bgl

Does someone have a copy of the bgl they can send me?

On its way, if I can figure out how to send a pm.

edit. Too big to send as an attachment, can you PM me your e-mail?

I have the same problem as you when the C 47 FDGv2 ( http://www.sim-outhouse.com/index.php?lloc=downloads&loc=downloads&page=info&FileID=8912 ) is to install , strange

the -4B doesn't use the db_" " weapons at all.
Not sure why it's callin for that, mine doesn't do it.

look in your weapons folder ....should have a a bgl named wep_FDG2_weapons . That's the only one you will need for it.

Ok, found the problem...kinda,lol.

It in the C-47 cargo. Not sure what I done, but don't have the files any more to fix it. The only way I know to make it work is to take the " wep_c47_cargo_boxes " out of your game.

Ok I will remove that file

thank you

If you have the C-47 you'll have to take it out of the dp for it. I just replaced it with one of the other ones.

Cowboy1968

removing that file solved the problem

just wish i knew why they clashed that way

Gramps

Thanks!!

The screw up is with the C-47 load............not sure I even have the source for any of it anymore............if I do it's on my old puter. Not sure it even runs anymore.

The plane's *.dp file is calling for the right object-(-name).
The game engine searches for the name and uses the object's ObjID number from then on.

Unfortunately there seems to be another object (crate) with just the same number in this case.

And: The file containing the crate is put in the hierarchy of objects in a premier position to the object you intend to show.

Normally this ObjID number is unique - one in a million.

But because we often only take other objects and tinker around and change one of the figures of existing ID numbers occasionally to create a new ID-number - this will be the result.

The objectID within the file wep_c47_cargo_boxes is ObjID( BEF78242 4E2784DA A111C181 56C94424 )

Now tell me the filename of the F4U weapon and I can compare (and fix it)

wep_FDG2_weapons

should be the ones for the corsair. and it should've came in the donationware download.

If you can change the cargo box that should do it I think.

...tell me the filename of the F4U weapon and I can compare (and fix it)

No need for the comparison Jax...just scasm the bgl's and directly modify the ObjID's by changing only two digits in each segment of the ID numbers--even with these small changes the uniqueness of the numbers will still be guaranteed:

example:

ObjID( BEF78242 4E2784DA A111C181 56C94424 )

to

ObjID( BEF78253 4E2784EB A111C192 56C94435 )

You have to make these same changes to the footer line also at the bottom of the scasm file. Convert the scasm files back to bgl's and you're done. This is the same technigue i use to create new weapons bgl's from exisiting bgl's after object repaints.

Is someone willing to do this and then post the box file for us all?

Jaxon

This is the new BGL. I have directly used the figures, bearcat suggested.

I had to change the ending to *.TXT to attach it here.

After downloading, rename it *.BGL and replace the original file.

Note: I haven`t checked if it works yet - but I have done this a hundred times.
