on t orginal post..the comments under the movie thing..people were saying it was fake..that they used film of the PBY and film of the fishermen...but i remember when that movie was new and "famous"..i remember and interview that someone(dont rremeber who) said they really filmed that...now i want to know the truth but not sure how to findout

It's called forced perspective... using the right lens, it shortens the shot. The cat was probably off the water 1/2 a mile before the boat....
