I posted about Jimmy Buffet's "Fruitcakes" recently, and mentioned singer/songwriter Mac Mcanally in the same thread.

This is Mac singing "Somewhere Nice Forever". The lyrics are pretty much a conversation he wished he'd had with his grandmother before she died. This song is beautiful, and always gets me close to tears.

And another LP he did is called "Cuttin' Corners" On it is a song called "Party" which is nothing more than political satire.

Could not find the actual song, but I typed out the lyrics:
"Party"
Mac Macanally 1980 from the LP, "Cuttin' Corners"
Some kinds of parties are lots of fun
But right now I can't think of one
'Cause the only party that's on my mind
Is that low down politickin' kind
It takes a whole lot less to feed a
donkey than an elephant
But a donkey, he's more likely to forget
And either way you lose the human element
It's an animal kingdom let's elect a
new white house pet
Some old buzzard asked some old goat
If the donkey or the elephant got his vote
Well, the goat's been a donkey
most of his life
But he changed his tune for his
elephant wife
