Nice work! I have ALWAYS had a warm spot in my heart for the Saab! I love pushers! I have always wanted to model an XP-56 myself.

Ive liked this aircraft for a while now think its the only aircraft to have ever served as both a piston and jet engined aircraft! Apparently it was loved by its pilots too for being a steady gun platform, armed to the teeth and very manouvreable.
P.S. @ gibbage, Piglet did an XP56 its sp2 only though but very well done as always by the master!!

Not quite..there is the Bede 5 (now thats an idea for a flight sim a/c)..there are probably others (I was going to say the D-328 but that was TURBOPROP and jet)..anyway I digress - thats looking good Tim!

If I ever make a twin-boom jet, it will be a Vampire FB5. I just never liked the jet J21. Adams makes cool looking twin boom propjobs, but their jet just looks funny, and couldn't compete with a Lear, Falcon, etc.
As far as planes serving in both piston engine and jet engine versions, there is also the Yak-15, a minimum-change conversion of a Yak-3.

June 28th, 2009, 18:50
Yes a Vampire FB-5 ..yes please! (now there another piston to jet the Adams).

I agree I like your thinking Tim, the barrel bodied yaks have always been a firm favorite of mine, the 15 and 17 were only used for like a year or two by the Ruskies, before the mig 15, but the look of the things and the manouverabilty described in books by the VVS pilots just makes me want either of them so bad, no doubt there!

As of this Sunday, just gotta do some metric gauges, and organize all the files, tex's, tweak airfile, etc. Model and VC are pretty much done.

SAAB 32 Lansen next ?

There's already one around, even a native FSX model. Look for it on Avsim.

I've somehow just fallen in love with the J-21's textures...
