Great model, but unfortunately no VC.

There's was an older Vautour with a great VC at Avsim, but for obvious reasons this is not available for download at the moment..

The Vautour by Barney Bigard is much nicer with a VC and working ejection seats. It used to be at Avsim but I am not sure where it can be found now

This is a link that shows how nice it is:

Needs a good soundset however. The Lear 45 soundset needs to be banned from being used as an alias for anything except the Lear and I think even that airplane could do with a new one, lol.

Otherwise, very nice airplane.

HAHAHAHA

That is soooooo true man, to be completly honest, the lear 45 soundset doesn't even sound that good to begin with. Isn't the Lear 45 soundset from like FS7 or FS8, sure does sound like it. :kilroy:

I prefer this new 3D model and these repaints but Baney Bigard 's Vautour has a really nice cockpit... may be should I try to blend all these things and see what the result might look like...

The model by Baney Bigard also has a working airborne radar system quite unique for a freeware model. While the newer model just released has some very nice attributes, Baney's is the way to go if you wasnt an excellent 2D and VC.

For older "straight pipe" jets like that, I like to use David Maltby's (http://www.dmflightsim.co.uk/default.htm) sounds. I haven't found anything else that comes close to the ear-splitting noise those things used to put out.

There's a wonderful Allison J33 soundset right here in the library, but I can't remember the author's name..

Slightly off topic, for those interested in well-done French military aircraft for FS9, I really like this Dassault Mystere ...

FS2004 Dassault Mystere IVA. Financed by the USA, the MIVA equipped the French Air Force from 1954 to 1982. This model rerpresents the "Verdon" version with the SCANSO or the MB seat, and with or without drop tanks. Includes a real checklist. Includes textures for French EC7, EC8, Patrouille de France and Israeli AF. Features firing guns and blue/white/red smoke. By J.F. Martin.

Cheers! Mike :gameon::wavey:

Little off topic, but since I have all the Vautour versions filling my hanger, wondered if anyone knows of a good version of the Vautour's Iron-Curtain Contemporary..the YAK-28 Brewer/Firebar??? Has been on my 'wish-list' for many moons and very surprised it has never appeared in FS9 or FSX...so many variants and 'gah-zillion' possible repaints! Just wondrering.

I would like to see a Yak-28 also. However there are two Il-28's for FS9, a fine one by Ralph Kreibich (no VC), and a very nice one from Jan Moravec with VC, navigators position and a simple tail gunners position. Mr. Moravec's version also includes RATO assist take off and the trainer version with two cockpits. I could not quickly locate a link for Kreibich's, but Mr. Moravec's Ilya can be found here...
