I expect that this sort of thing has been discussed before, but anyway, share your ideas; and let us know if any of the items are available: some may not be possible!

smoke screen
sand storm
ice bergs
floating (adrift) mines
churchill tank
flotsam and jetsam from a sunk ship
liferafts, etc.
broken (bomb damged look) trees (esp for WWI)
cassino abbey destroyable--ideally destroyable in several sections
german motorcycle (with side car)
bulldozer (for building runways)
jeep
train tunnel
train mounted howitzer

well, there's a start!

Some of these have been done in some form.
Nibbio=flotsam and jetsam from a sunk ship
liferafts, etc.
TheB24guy&Psullykeys = damaged infrastructure broken (bomb damged look)

I believe that I saw a post that these were being worked on but that there was other construction equipment done already. Don't know about bulldozer (for building runways)

jeep?
Axis vehicles were done by Wolfi, and remember a jeep done somewhere on another site ( maybe even another sim)

smoke screen= I think Nanni had something of that sort concerning vehicles and dust trails. Jaxon might even be able to help you there.

Skipsan, I'll see if I still have it, if I remember right you could still land on it and the landing lights worked. We couldn't treat it as a .bgl(?), so the speed in the .dp has to be zero and she is registered as a carrier.

We (Fox4), even had a HMS Ocean with a chopper plane guard off the port quarter, but the fps was to heavy. All the Colossus models have a crash barrier built in just waiting for some bright spark to figure out the coding required to activate them from the pilots point of view.:help:

The trouble with any open boat on a cfs2 sea is that the water shows up inside the vessel at the waterline. Its why a launch is more preferable with its enclosed structure.

I would like to see german light AA artillery mounted on towers for use in airbases. That was common in 1943/44, and it would make them more visible.

Also Paris scenery.

And specially to be able to shoot back as a gunner when you are flying in a bomber. If not you are a sitting duck unless you are surrounded by a very compact flight of B17 or B24.

And some missions against V1 launching sites. I remeber there was one mission with itīs scenery but I have lost it.

With the life raft a Channel rescue mission could be done using a flying boat, both german like the Do18 or Sea Otter

Also... a DP with a bomb load of chaff and a FX of a cloud of chaff that floats in the air and slowly goes down over a looooong time... that way we can make missions with AI bombers dropping "window", chaff windows to cover bombers agaisnt radar.

In the MB you can then make an event that if you fly , or AI planes fly away such-and-such distance from the chaff, then enemy CAPs spawn to represent radar picking up an intercetp vector for the bombers.

...actually two parachutists...one is an FX file that creates a complete stick of parachutists every time you hit the Lights key. The other is a payload paratrooper.

The FX file is by far the most useful. The paratroop payload has limited use as the aircraft has to be large enough to accomodate the 'ice cream cones'.

Both are (I believe) posted here at SOH.....one is included with the CFS2 C-119 download. :ernae:

TR:

With the SOHīs server fried I couldnīt find or retreive the C-119 paratroopers. Instead Iīve searched the SOH threads and found three fx files that work as paratroop payloads:

1st and 2nd: 82abd-fx.zip and 82ab-fx.zip. Made for FS2002 by Heather Sherman modifying Pierino Primavesiīs fx paratroop files for his JU-52.

3rd: para.zip, fx paratroop file for FS2004, made by Gianni Vakirtzi.

I still have to test them in CFS2. They are in Flightsim.com library.

Another posibility will be to try Pierino Primavesiīs for FS2002 in JU-52 or itīs paratroopers wich are a little bit more complex. And as ther is a JU-52 dedicated to CFS2 that comeīs without paratroopers I donīt think this will be possible.

Once Iīve put them to work I will try making some missions with paratroopers and gliders for Crete, D-Day, Korea or something like that. They wonīt be for quick combat lovers but I think that for every triggerfull hour flown by fighters there were many more hours flown by cargo, recon, bomber and other types of planes. Most of them uneventfull  and others toppled with action :icon_eek:. Iīm looking for the second type. Or the oneīs flown by fighters but with other things in mind like finding a harbour full of german flying boats like BV138 trying to escape to Norway in the final days of the war. This comes from my recollection of The Flying Circus written by Pierre Closterman. Letīs hope the FR down get negative!!

Give us a few more detail on the mission/campaign. Is it the stock campaign or an add on. If it's an addon, give us the title and author and where you got it from or it's complete name. With these details I'm sure we can find it or fix it.

Howitzers and other field guns don't shoot in CFS 2, but they could be listed as a missing scenery object. Is that the nature of your error window?

1: A ground texture, BGL, whatever it is, to depict a blasted, smoking battleground. Peleliu, or Tarawa for example, all nice and green and pretty, just doesn't look right.

6. An updated He-219 A5/A7. The A5 is okay, I like the Schrage Musik of the A7.
7. German "Watering Cans" 7.9mm gunpods for underwing of Stuka, FW-190, Henschel 123, etc. Each pod had 3 guns aimed slighlty downward for infantry strafing(Squadron Publications has the info in their book on FW-190 or Stuka, I'll have to look them up)

That is one of the AC I wanted JL, thank you. This is the N1K1-J Shiden with two 20mm Type 99 Model 2 cannon in the wings and two of the same in "godolas" beneath the wings, as we Yanks call them, bathtubs. There were also two 7.7 mm machine guns in the fuselage/nose, deleted on later models and on the Shiden KAI.

The Raiden I am looking for is the J2M3A-Model 21A. there were 21 of these manufactured with the identical cannon in the gondolas. The normal J2M3 Raiden had a pair of the faster firing Type 99 Model 2 Cannon and the shorter, slower firing Type 99 Model 1 in the wings, these are found on the A6M2 and A6m3 Zeros.

I'll send for the passwords, thanks!

We're covered for the main British types maimi. The updated 40mm Bofors and Bismarck did a very nice static mount 3.7" AA.

I have not been able to find a downlloadable jeep, there was one made on a site with a bunch of other vehicles, but the jeep link did not work and he never restored it.... or a couple of other of the vehicles that were on that site. Jeeps were so ubiquitous in WWII it would be nice to have em. Not sure if there is a good standard Deuce and ahalf either. They were legion as well.

I would like some bombs similar to the AF_Arty, that would burn like incendiary bombs of WW II. I am kind of tired of seeing puffs of dust on the ground from 15-20 thousand feet instead of big black billowing smoke from a real bomber mission. I am using AF_Arty as my bomb strikes and like the visuals much better than any bomber weapons I have seen thus far.

I can't find the "howitzer type 4" by searching for text in campaigns or missions, so...The sequence popped up as an error, in the mis/camp of defending Henderson (Guadacanal) then replaced it with a bridge (Shooting at me) parallel to the shore, it may have something to do with my mixed-up scenery sequences that now has the beach lines confused with land and water - yeah guns in the water, ships running onto land etc., Since Micro$oft abandoned flight sims in general, I do not have the brains to decompile their mess and rewrite it, 100 plane limitation, and my scenery mesh mess, with today's dual, quads etc., shouldn't have problems, such as; a computer deals with databases and should handle data needed, right. uh sorry, off subject, I hate both Micro$oft and Intel, since my "Home Computer" days, starting at 40, now you know how old I am. I do appreciate all you who work hard at keeping this Sim alive. I will keep plugging... and ya'all Have a Merry Christmas!

More missing AA guns and machineguns for different countries: Britain, Italy, France... A must for proper mission-building.
