Very cool pic Collin, ...

Q.1 What are we lookin' at here?, ...besides simply a rocket attack. Anything special about the target?

C.1 I usually set my .dp's to 4-rocket firing groups.

Q.2 Do ya know what the attacking A/C is?

Thanks.

I will have to do some more research but here's some speculation.

The target is German.

It looks like a converted coastal craft that has been made into a flak vessel.

The rockets are salvoed in 4's.

The gap between the 2 sets of rockets is wide.

The camera-gun is in the aircraft fuselage.

So it looks like its either a mossie or a beaufighter thats firing them.

Thoughts anyone??

Ouch...that's gonna leave a pretty bad scar! Looks like its already taken some pounding - dead in the water and small fires.

On further examination of the picture, it is apparent that the rockets are in a salvo of 6.
The label on the back on the photo reads-

____ Ju__ __

__**FIGHTERS ATTACK

As the actual photo is a 10x8 you can see 2 crewmen on the forward deck watching the rockets coming towards them.:engel016:

Not too sure of the camera gun position in the Mossie, but on the Beau it was right forward centrally in the nose if ASV Thimble nose wasn't fitted.

The last two rockets of the eight are probably outside the photo area.

Well, if that's a German flak vessel, the striking aircraft could very well be a flak-suppression Beau MkVIC, quite a deadly bird....

Cheers!
