Yes, if it was 1992 I would be thrilled.

I was trying to think of something spiffy to say here, but I can't top that. :)

Now that is cool!

Designed for boats, for underwater (submarines), for space, for scenery, water with waves, cows and birds, 3D grass....

I hope they are working on ways to enable Max files to be migrated into the sim, max scripts for exporting, so that existing vehicles could be brought over.

Imagine that sim with just nicer clouds...

Imagine that sim with the Aerosoft F-16 in it.

This looks like potential..

Thanks gajit for the heads up.

It has tool sets that take .3ds files to convert to x files for it , they are programmed like FS9 models with named parts performing different functions , i downloaded a copy of the demo before posting that on Avsim this morning , it was funny to watch a cow wander by .. there are a number of features highly familiar to fs9 users in there and in a couple of years this will be a viable alternative , the waving grass was cute but the music reminded me of the stuff Nurse Ratchet played in One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest.

Some of the scenery looks pretty good, but the planes look like there twenty years old,but I can see some great potential.

People, I would strongly advise you to take a much closer look to those shots. Sure the 3D models and textures are low quality for now, however there are quite a few things which are impresive:
- the whole Earth is modelled
- the world under water is modelled
- the space flight is modelled
- the water is in real 3D with waves
- "Hangsim" was quite a nice gliding simulator a few year ago, those guys know what a serious flight model is.

So yes, it does not look good on those screenshots, but the features proposed are very impressive, enough to make a very interesting plateform for future simulator developpments.

Ok - I was joking and its no where near FSX model wise yet but what a great idea - a sim world where you can drive, sail or pilot what ever you want.

I agree with you quite often... :friday:

For what it's worth quite a few designers are working on making FSX into just that..... and it will look a whole damn lot nicer too :caked:

Very cool!

it has some great features & given time to mature I am certain we will all be playing it.

Agreed! I am no longer excited about FSX (FS 2005) with its 2d clouds, 2d water, and 2d flight model.

Someone needs to develop a real flight sim soon before I completely lose interest.

I bought Hawx 2 days ago for my PS3 and really surprised. Graphically its alot more than I ever expected. I am a real world pilot, mid 40s so the arcade overwhelmng odds type gameplay dissapoints me but it delivers what is says. I do not have the cat like reflexes of a teenage anymore but its a blast to dogfight 6 planes while sams are being shot at you, gunboats are shooting, the COL riding your ass and the B-52s you are escorting are being shot to hell. Did I mention that the clock is ticking all the while. Not a game for the laid back sight seeing type. Its apples and oranges so dont even try to compare to FSX. But its a ray of hope and the graphics engine has alot of possibilities. At least os not ANOTHER aliens taking over the world and has the worlds best planes in it. Hell at this point, ANYTHING that has flying involved is welcomed so support it.

Well, you almost can in FSX already - all the default models are convertible to be driven, piloted, sailed, etc...

Some people seem to want to go underwater skateboarding as well :hand:

One thing that this sim has going for it is the ability to copy what worked for others and omit what didn't ... this is called learning from mistakes ...

I think it's a great concept and idea, love the grass and the environments (under water!).

While I agree that the aircraft models so far appear to be of relatively low quality, I'd love to see this developed further (and to know just what the spaceflight limitations are)

Even bringing the models up to the level of some of the better Orbiter craft (Delta Glider, Shuttle Fleet) could make that package VERY attractive.

And for those of us who have wanted weapons in FSX, guess what this sim seems to have? Including, if I read it correctly, guided air-to-air missiles! Very cool.
