As I'm not usually in to USAAF aircraft, but making potential Regensburg Schweinfurt missions means that I am looking for good 1943 P47Ds for the 56th, 78th,and 353rd Fighter groups, all flying 47Ds AFAIK. Besides Joost's now 1944 post D day version, I don't see anything other than stock versions for US pilots in 1943. Any ideas on what to use?

Not exactly what you asked for.

Thanks Andy. For all I know they could have all been 'C's in any case, so unless I hear to the contrary, I will use this.

I think at the time of that raid they could well have still been C models. I don't know though.

Yeah, I haven't so far found a reference to the actual model, but, as you said, given the time period, C was more than likely the correct model.

In fact digging into accident reports for that date , most P47 losses outside on the US seem to hve been P47Cs
