Tomorrow, 24 March 2022, it will be exactly 80 years since John V. Newkirk (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Newkirk), CO of the 2nd "Panda Bears" squadron of the American Volunteer Group, died attacking an enemy airfield in Thailand.
I did a skin for Newkirk's plane for the A2A Tomahawk a couple of years ago, which I fly often. I thought he might like it, so I paid him a visit today.

Jack rests about half a mile from my house, since his remains were brought home after the war. I cleaned up his place a little, planted a flag and left a screen shot with a thank-you note on it. It's laminated so hopefully it will survive the weather for a few days and educate some other visitors.
