This company has no customer forum and only checklist available so I try here. The plane has carb heat and oil cooler switches in low middle panel. I assume that both are closed on down position?

I would assume that the normal down position of those switches are off. Is there any indication of actions if you flip them to the up position?

What comes to oil temperature there is no immediate or soon effect. By then I have usually reached cruise altitude and gained some speed which naturally helps more effectively. Under the engine is a round grille which somehow changes, a whole maybe, to let air through?

Here is your answer from Andrey:

Hello Ed!

For carb heat: COLD is up position HOT for low
Same for oil shutters, up for open position.

Best regards,
Andrey

Okay, thanks. They were on default down, so this helps a lot. Checklist states only "set".

No problem. Just an FYI: Although their website doesn't have a forum, if you scroll to the bottom of their web page there is an email address for any questions you might have. I got that answer pretty quickly after sending it.
