A really nice and simple tool to check all your FSX gauges (and duplicates) http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/images/icons/icon22.gif.

At this time for FSX only.

I like the idea behind it however it's limitation seems to be that unless every airplane you own is in the "Airplanes" folder there's no way to get it to read any other folders. I don't use the Airplanes folder unless I'm installing AI aircraft, which I rarely do. The bulk of my airplanes are in separate folders inside the SimObjects folder based on "Type" (Bush, GA, Military, Experimental and Civil Jets). This program won't read outside of the Airplanes folder. If it could be modified that would be great.

Not wishing to hijack this thread, but this sounds an interesting idea, Do you move individual aircraft to your Aircraft folder when you want to fly, or can the sim read other folders, And is this just good house keeping or is there an incress of load-up and performance, thanks ian

PS, im sure ive seen programs out there that remove surplus and duplicated gauge's

Hi falcon409,

I dont know weather a free folder choice is possible. I´ve communicated with Vincenzo when the first version of his tool was released last week. This first version of his tool performed only for Windows 32 Bit systems and only the airplanes folder was selectable. Vincenzo was very interested to get tips and suggestions to improve his tool. He changed it for 32 and 64 bit machines. Also all simobjects standard folders are now selectable. He did other improvements too. Maybe he would like to expand the tool for a free folder choice you need?

Perhaps you write a short request. Vincenzo is accessible via skatesoft@yahoo.com

[Rem. As far as I know he is working for/with GeniX https://genixsoft.blogspot.com/ - I have to check their activities - for example their (free) ai spotter programm looks very interesting.]

Ian, you can make individual folders within the SimObjects folder and then add those to the list found in the FSX.cfg file, that way the Sim will read those at startup and display the aircraft in the selection menu. I have never noticed any increase in load times and I guess you could say it was a way for me to keep things straight (housekeeping) rather than everything being loaded into one folder.

seems to me the easiest thing to do would be to read the fsx.cfg file for available aircraft folders? Only maybe half my aircraft are in the SimObjects directory, I have other directories outside, and I do believe some companies now even install outside of SimObjects, and, like Falcon, I also have further split up my SimObjects directory. But they're all listed in my fsx.cfg file.

I think once he has the program able to search "panel.cfg's" from within the SimObjects folder (rather than being limited to the Airplane folder only). . .he'll have something.

I agree, I'm holding off on downloading because this program is definitely a work in progress. Once it is matured, I think it will be a very handy tool.
