Other Development Updates which might be of interest:

F/A-18C Hornet: the team is focused on the completion of the AGM-62 Walleye, updating the Harpoon, implementing dynamic launch zones / release points for JDAMs and JSOWs and Pre-Briefed mode for the AGM-88 HARM. The Team are working on completing and improving the current weapons prior to moving on to new systems such as the SLAM and SLAM-ER. TWS and enhanced radar modes will follow.
P-47D: A lot of work is being put into the external model that includes the landing gear, landing gear doors, intercooler and oil cooler flaps, landing flaps and creating realistic paint schemes. The cockpit is coming along well with remaining work mostly on the lighting and cockpit-view pilot model. The team are tuning the flight model, power plant and systems.
Supercarrier: the model is 95% complete with deck crew animations progressing well. This week we made good progress on the holdback bar animations and general scripting of launch operations. We’ve also made good progress on the LSO platform which offers an exceptional level of detail and functionality. For the early access launch, we plan 14 aircraft spawn locations.
Mi-24: UV mapping of the pilot’s cockpit is almost done and then we will spend about a month working on the animations and textures. The flight model is near 80% complete.
Integrated Voice Chat: We are now in the final stretch of rolling out the test version. We’ve added a minimize command, volume options, mic options, and bug fixes. Following the initial release, we will implement the creation of rooms.
New Effects: We are currently working on missile flame and smoke enhancements as well as new tracer art. This should deliver a new level of realism to exhaust flames based on motor and fuel type.
Dynamic Campaign: We now have a basic test version that works within DCS World to evaluate the real-time strategy element of the system. We are using this to debug the system. In parallel, work is now underway on the UI interface and the AI machine learning code. This is complex and is receiving a lot of focus at the moment.
Our new ‘secret’ terrain is coming along very well. We hope to be releasing screens shots soon…

Yours sincerely,
The Eagle Dynamics Team

I am really looking forward to the cockpit enhancements for the KA-50 and the A-10C. It is awesome that ED are upgrading them like this. The Warthog still has it even as it is. I have been flying Warthog campaigns for the past few weeks, and with the Rift S, the cockpit labels and all the screens are as clear as day. I can't wait for the improvements that the upgrades will bring. Compared to how good the Warthog already is, it should be spectacular.

Development Report #4

Hornet & Viper: Our focus is currently on cleaning up the F-16C enough to release it to the “stable” version and there are a number of must have items on the to do list notably Track While Scan (TWS), some flight dynamics tuning and cockpit systems developments. Meanwhile, other team members are at work on the Hornet TWS and weapon systems enhancements. We expect a hard push on the Hornet’s radar and targeting pod by the end of the month.

SA-5 (S-200V) new 3D models: The S-200 (NATO: SA-5 Gammon) is a Russian medium to high altitude long-range heavy surface-to-air missile (SAM) system. A highly-proliferated weapon, it is currently in service in at least 12 countries. The later S-200V, S-200M, and S-200VE use the 5V28 missile. The missile measures 10.7 m in length, 0.86 m diameter, and has a range up to 250 km. The 5V28 uses a proximity fused conventional 217 kg HE warhead with semi-active homing guidance.

Development Report #6

Working with our partners at Deka Ironwork, we plan to release the DCS: JF-17 Thunder on December 4th, 2019. It will be available from both the DCS World e-Shop and Steam. Stay tuned for more details!
The team has been cranking away on the F-16C Viper, but we needed a few more days to complete the announced features for the next Open Beta. Eagerly awaited features of the next F-16C update will be the Track While Scan (TWS) radar mode, initial data link, external lights, centerline fuel tank, and more. Following this Open Beta, our modern-day fixed-wing jet dev team will focus on the Hornet’s targeting pod, TWS and other radar modes, updates to weapons like the JDAM and JSOW, and more.
Supercarrier work continues to revolve around the deck crew animations, improved lighting and visual effects as well as the LSO station. We are on track to release the Early Access of this module in the very near future.
Both the A-10C and Ka-50 new cockpits are progressing well with a lot of work invested into realistic textures and effects. We will use these products to take cockpit night lighting to the next level.
The Mi-24 cockpits are progressing well and we should be able to show you the first renders in the very near future.
The P-47 is looking beautiful inside and out and our flight model engineers have been very busy tuning the flight dynamics to match the real aircraft based on excellent references and first-hand pilot experience.
The visual effects of the new WWII damage model are now getting most of the focus because the internal damage effects and the physics are nearly complete. It’s just as important for the damage to look correct as the impact on systems and aircraft performance.
The basics of the dynamic campaign simulation engine are working in the map view and we’ve been using this to test the RTS element of the system. To support this, we’ve been adding new icons to the map for items like factories, warehouses, logistic units, and more. Work is also underway on providing visual indications of ground force movements and emplacements in the map view.

Thank you all for your passion and support.

Quality Assurance Update
Development Report

Dear Community,

We read you, we hear you, we listen to you and we are working for you! Thank you for being with us and for your help to improve DCS World.

We delivered DCS World 2.5.6 Open Beta on February, 14.
Every version increase of 2.5.X is a cumulative update of the core environment. The feedback that we received from our community, especially with regards to multiplayer, is helping us to improve the delivery process.

The release of an unstable Open Beta to our clients has taught us an important lesson, and we are committed to improving the QA before an Open Beta delivery.

Our updated process includes:

Longer internal QA testing and debugging.
Earlier external Beta Tester access to Release Candidates. How to become a Beta Tester. English (https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=50779) & Russian (https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=260807) links.
A new closed Eagle Dynamics dedicated multiplayer testing server. The invitations will be announced soon.
DCS Open Beta delivery.
Hotfix process (if required).
DCS Stable delivery.

We will try to keep a schedule of 2-week iterations once the DCS World 2.5.6 Stable is released.

I have started posting development milestones on Reddit in the Hoggit community which you can read here (https://www.reddit.com/r/hoggit/comments/f6pfwj/dcs_world_in_terms_of_production_honest_and/). These will also be posted to our official forums.

I will continue to inform you about the progress of each project on our official ED forum.

Awesome! I have just been reading about the A-7 from Flying Iron Simulations. Never realised they were Australian before. I'm not on Facebook, but was just checking out their posts there and also checking out their website. The announcement of their A-7 for DCS got over 200 comments and 500 likes, and people are pretty excited. I am too. I always loved the A-7. I remember making some models of A-7s as a youngster, and always loved the unique intake and the look it gave the Corsair (II). This will be great in DCS.

Their XP11 stuff looks pretty nice too. Spitfire and P-47.

3D Scanning
Development Report
We have started the improvement of all our human models in DCS World. The first step is to create a reference database containing different parts of the human body and prepare prototypes that will be used for all models. The video shows (https://youtu.be/X9jB8RQFTtU) how we started observing the differences in our current models and note areas of improvements. The upgrades will be visible both in geometry and skinning throughout DCS World.
The picture with one hand is received from the scanner and drastically improves lead time for model creation. The other pictures compare new and old models.

This weeks DD
Guns, Guns, Guns
Development Report
With all the work going on with the new damage model, and following a recent post by one of our dedicated community members pertaining to ballistics and round drag we decided to check most of the guns and ammo in the sim.
We detected an excessive amount of round dispersion due to improper gun installation characteristics which impacted dispersion values in most of our WWII aircraft. We have corrected the rigidity of these installation values and as a result, have seen a drop in dispersion values on all WWII aircraft of approximately 1.5 times.
The P-51D and upcoming P-47 are also receiving some extra TLC. We will be using a combat mix of M8 API and M20 API/T belts. This will better match historical data and our upcoming visual effects upgrade.
The Spitfire as well will benefit from improved ballistics for a more accurate match to historical documents such as type designation and firing tables.
The GAU-8 isn’t getting left out either. We updated our information from General Electric which diminishes round dispersion by approximately 1.5 times. We know that many in the community have been complaining about this for some time and with this latest data backed correction the Hog will deliver even more tank-busting fun to our faithful users. Thank you again for persisting.
While no dispersion issues were found with the M61 we will be updating the PGU type shells with improved ballistics. This should affect any aircraft using these types of shells, including the F-16C.
Last, but not least, the F-86F is also currently under review, so far we have found possible issues with barrel heating and cooling. We will continue to make changes as needed.

Eurofighter on the horizon
Introducing TrueGrit Virtual Technologies

https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=230756&stc=1&d=1585277643 (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/screenshots/572/)

We are thrilled to announce that the Eurofighter Typhoon is on its way to DCS World!

To bring this advanced fighter to DCS, a brand new company, TrueGrit Virtual Technologies has been founded specifically for the challenge. The TrueGrit development team is led by Gero Finke, a highly experienced former Typhoon Instructor Pilot with 15 years experience on type and an additional 10 years as a weapons instructor on the mighty F-4 Phantom – a total of 3’000 hours of military jet flying. Gero was station commander at one of the world’s most famous fighter bases of all time, the 71st Tactical Fighter Wing at Wittmundhaven, Germany, formally known as the Red Baron´s legendary “Jagdgeschwader Richthofen” and Squadron Commander at Jagdgeschwader 73, Steinhoff. Today, Gero’s dev team has substantial programming and design experience. This professionalism combined with Gero’s exceptional active-duty and operational knowledge is very promising for DCS and the future of this exciting new module.

Their 3D designer has a background working with Airbus, Grob, Eurocopter, Luftwaffe and also with Heatblur on their DCS: F-14 project.

The lead coder has had substantial experience with various simulator projects, both in the air and ground combat realm. Two other coders with Ph.D.’s in physics and mathematics will lead the programming of the Typhoon’s extremely complex flight model.

In addition to Gero’s personal input and contribution to this highly detailed simulation, the team has excellent access to a number of Subject Matter Experts such as former instructor pilots, weapon instructors and maintenance personnel.

Their team size stands at 15 today but they are always on the lookout for experienced coders to continue to grow. See more development screenshots below.

maybe that's the fidelity we'll get... sometimes EuFi will fly, sometimes you'll get in the thing and it'll go tech and not fly :biggrin-new:

kinda looking forwards to it though! (though i'm still waiting on my baby the F-4E! and the F-16 is helping alleviate that to a degree)

From The C E O
"* Dear Community, dear Friends,
We hope you are well and that you and your families are safe and not too distressed in these tough times. We also hope you enjoyed last month’s “Stay at Home” event. It was a new and refreshing adventure we trust was well received by the community as we registered a very large number of users who took advantage of the free to fly opportunities, despite the rather short 2-day time limits for each module.
In the light of the ongoing difficulties we are all facing, we have decided to go the extra mile and will be announcing a similar but enhanced event in the very near future. We really hope it will meet with your approval and enthusiasm.
Thank you again for all your comments I received following my previous post on Reddit/Hoggit (https://www.reddit.com/r/hoggit/comments/f6pfwj/dcs_world_in_terms_of_production_honest_and/).
Your remarks were extremely helpful, insightful and encouraging too.
Today I would like to share some information pertaining to the DCS: Supercarrier early access release date, the F/A-18C Hornet and F-16C Viper roadmaps and our updated pipeline.
DCS: Supercarrier
We have been working hard towards the announced release date of April 15th. Sadly, we were unable to work through all the issues in order to ensure a satisfactory Early Access release.
The main “no-go” for me and I am sure for you too, is Multiplayer behavior which still suffers from certain non-game breaker bugs which were confirmed on Saturday, April 11th. Today we have a new plan and will be working overtime to bring you this long-awaited product. I actively follow the threads, in particular “April 15th 2020” and I understand how disappointed you are, but I am confident you will agree that Multiplayer needs a bit more love.
DCS: F/A-18C Hornet
Since my previous post we delivered 4 FLIR pointing modes which were a substantial task to develop. We have prepared a bug fix update for this week and we are working to deliver the following features by the end of April:

Completion of the Litening Targeting Pod
Dynamic launch zones and AUTO LOFT mode for JDAM
AG radar: Real Beam Ground Map (MAP)
SLAM air-to-surface missile

During the spring and summer, we plan to work on a range of Flight Model enhancements that include Automatic Carrier Landing System (ACLS), autopilot modes, and about 30 related features and issues.
DCS: F-16C Viper
For the last two months, we have mainly focused on bug fixing and small improvements. A new developer joined us recently and is working hard on the AGM-65D Maverick air-to-surface missile, which we hope he will be delivering by the end of April.
We will be increasing our efforts on the navigation system starting in May. Improvements will include the update of the steerpoint system permitting in-game mission planning and cursor zero (CZ) will also be added.

A very generous offer by ED. I have a lot, but not all modules. I might try out the Harrier during this time and perhaps buy it. I do have quite a few modules, so struggle to find the time to use all of them.

I see the Super Carrier is discounted by 50% also. I already pre purchased, but good to see that is included. Some people will be getting some bargains with some very recent modules at 50% off, not to mention the free use for a month.

Dear Fighter Pilot, Partners and Friends, https://forums.eagle.ru/images/smilies/pilotfly.gif
This week we are excited to share our progress on DCS World Dynamic Campaign Engine.
This is quite a big step for us and despite the slow progress, we are optimistic that it will
be a great enhancement to DCS. We cannot give you a firm initial OB release date yet as
things are still quite raw, but we will keep you updated regularly as the next milestones
come to pass.
Our third-party partners TrueGrit Virtual Technologies are working hard on the
DCS: Eurofighter Typhoon. Please check out some of the cool stuff they are up to below.
We would like to thank our internal and external Beta-Testers Teams for the relentless
testing and reporting in the lead up to the upcoming OB in mid August. We are optimistic
about the rate of bug squashing and trust that performance will also improve in the
coming releases.
Thank you for your passion and support.

Dynamic Campaign Engine
For DCS World
https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=244327&stc=1&d=1596800558
The DCS World Dynamic Campaign Engine combines a Real-Time Strategy (RTS) engine
with military forces and economics layers (production, logistics, use and transfer of resources)
that pitch two opposing sides aided by advanced strategic and tactical AI.
We have now completed the core RTS logic and have connected it to DCS World. We are
currently finalising the basics of the in-game economic models. We will be working on the
combat tasking logic and certain win-win situations in the near future. The last stage will
be the Client - Server architecture needed to support large campaigns with on-going
online sessions.
We are certain that you will have many detailed questions and look forward to revealing
more information on this module as and when we are in position to demonstrate some
of the features live.

‘We at TrueGrit Virtual Technologies would like to take this chance to give you some latest
updates concerning the Eurofighter Typhoon Development. It is with great pride that we can
officially announce a collaboration with Diehl Defence GmbH.
Diehl Defence GmbH is located in Überlingen, Germany and is the manufacturer of the soph-
-isticated IRIS-T missile. They are offering us full support in bringing the most realistic version
of the IRIS-T to DCS World – as always within the limits of what can be released to a public
platform like DCS. It will be available to you with the initial launch of the German Eurofighter
Typhoon Version and will be your main heat seeking missile. With this collaboration we have
come one step closer to bringing you the most realistic experience of the Eurofighter Typhoon
possible.
We are working at full throttle on all areas of the project and are making good progress. The
progress picture by the almighty Fragger shows the latest version of the cockpit.
We would like to thank you for your unwavering support and enthusiasm, as it is a constant
reminder of what we are working towards and motivates us to give our best. You can be sure
that every post, comment and feedback reaches us and is very appreciated. ‘

P-47 Thunderbolt
Upgrades
https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=244329&stc=1&d=1596800558
The P-47 proved to be a formidable fighter-bomber due to its armament, heavy bomb load
and ability to absorb enemy fire. The P-47’s durability was due in part to its exceptionally
dependable P&W R2800 radial piston engine, which unlike comparable liquid-cooled engines,
had a high tolerance for damage. P-47 pilots frequently carried two 500 lb (227 kg) bombs,
using a favoured skip bombing tactic, skipping bombs into railroad tunnels to destroy hidden
enemy trains.
We are currently working on the bomb arming controls and detonation set-up adjustments.
We are also working on the D-30 early and D-40 variants. Both versions include new modifi-
-cations and improved damage modelling. These updates will be available in the up-coming
DCS World Open Beta (OB) updates.

Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, https://forums.eagle.ru/images/smilies/pilotfly.gif
We are on track to release DCS: A-10C II Warthog and are currently working with
operational pilots to ensure small adjustments are made to the Flight Model where
required. See below for more information on the status of work in progress.
In late 2014, DCS: MiG-21bis was the first third-party module released and remains
one of the most beloved fighters in DCS World. We would like to share some of the
great progress made to this wonderful module, especially in regards to DCS: Syria.

Development Report
https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=246673&stc=1&d=1599230544 (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/mig21bis/)
Most importantly a long awaited update to the cockpit mesh was finalised, which
substantially improved the precision of cockpit geometry. This will be particularly
appreciated by VR users.
Visual improvements were followed by a new Flight Model as well as Avionics and
Weapon System enhancements such as the recalibration of all the instruments.
Significant ground clutter causes performance degradation when the RP-22SMA
radar is used in low level flight, this has yet to be resolved. Small corrections to
the lift coefficient at lower Mach numbers were made. Structural damage caused
by exceeding G-load limits is now dynamically calculated depending on aircraft weight.
https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=246674&stc=1&d=1599230544 (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/mig21bis/)
The addition of navigation data for DCS: Syria has been added, as well as a number
of new missions. An overhaul of almost all air-to-air missiles is also in progress.
We are experimenting with a more realistic rendering technology for the ASP gunsight
and RP-22SMA radar. Magnitude 3 has expanded the Leatherneck Simulation team
who are now working on DCS: MIG-21bis, and two other projects…

A new crew campaign from Stone Sky is available for DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight.
Set in the extremes of Northern Russia, this campaign will test your skills at all stages of flight.
Experience the immersive atmosphere of the arctic on Bolshevik Island in the Caucasus
where the Mi-8 helicopter is still a demanded transportation mode. Your base is situated
at the Solnechnaya Polar Station refinery complex, within the territory Severnaya Zemlya.
Complete day and night time exercises still in use by the Russian Army aviation. Destroy
ground targets in combat training flights and lead combat missions, which require perfect
management to enable a safe return to base.
Voiced radio messages in English and Russian give an insight into the civil aviation work
carried out in Arctic Russia. Your adventure awaits!
This campaign requires knowledge of navigation equipment, avionics and helicopter control.

As we prepare for the release of DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer by the end of this month, we are carefully checking
the Flight Model’s buffet and stall implementation, instantaneous turn rate, sustained turn rate, and maximum
speed at different altitudes. These checks enable measured parameters to match the flight manual charts with a
precision to within 3%.
We found that buffeting affects the airframe at a lower AoA than is stated in the manual, this affected aircraft
handling during deliberate stalling. We are working on this issue, which will result in a significant improvement
to overall aircraft behavior in this phase of flight.
In parallel, many of the new systems are now functional including laser-Maverick, APKWS, and the GBU-54 LJDAM.
Work continues on the Helmet Mounted Cueing System (HMCS) and associated HOTAS commands and updating the
cockpit and external art.

This week we fixed an issue with A/G radar heading figures overlapping when switching from Map to EXP1-2-3.
Other strange behavior when switching between A/G radar EXP modes and A/A radar has now been resolved.
When Unlimited weapons mode is activated, the salvo / ripple replenishment levels now display correctly. Threat
circles on SA page now show even if the threat Icon is not visible. The SAM threat rings draw order on the SA page
has been fixed. Swapping HSI/SA on left and right MDI now functions correctly.
A fuel transfer issue from external tanks has now been fixed. Radio volume issues and the COMM AM/FM change on

A-10C II Tank Killer
Released to Open Beta

https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=248980&stc=1&d=1601589296 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuVNLaH2i5Q)

DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/products/planes/tank_killer/) adds new weapons such as; the Advanced Precision Kill Weapons
System (APKWS), AGM-65L laser-Maverick, and GBU-54 laser-guided JDAM. A completely
remodelled cockpit with options for factory-fresh and weathered textures. The “Scorpion”
Helmet-Mounted Integrated Targeting (HMIT) system used to train the 355th Wing cadets
and the updated external model now set the bar for our future releases.

We have updated the preset key commands for HOTAS hardware to make new users feel
more comfortable learning this in-depth system. The fully interactive Forward Air Controller
(FAC) will also help you find and engage enemy targets, cooperative target engagement has
been taken to a new level.

With the improved ability to command ground forces, the vast number of land, air and sea units
as well as feature-rich cooperative missions and head-to-head multiplayer; We are proud to say
this is the most realistic model ever done for PC simulation.

Pricing Policy
DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer is available now for $79.99. If you own DCS: A-10C Warthog, you can
upgrade to DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer for only $9.99 until the 31st of October 2020. After that,
the upgrade will cost $19.99.

The upgrade option and module are both available on Steam and Eshop now (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/products/planes/tank_killer/).

https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=248981&stc=1&d=1601589296 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kK6-8iL0_9E)

A new addition to the renowned A-10C is the Helmet Mounted Cueing System (HMCS). It provides
excellent situational awareness and the ability to cue weapons and sensors by just looking at the
target and setting a designation. Please note that this is not the same helmet implementation as
for the Viper and Hornet systems; it is in many ways far superior.

August, 1944. You arrive in Merville-Calonne to take on leadership of 7./JG26 flying Focke Wulf 190A-8s.
Most of the pilots are mere teenagers with only a few flying hours, and your job is to turn them into an
efficient fighting unit under the ever-increasing pressures of the war. The Allies have gained complete air
superiority over the continent, and their ground forces are advancing rapidly through France.

Experience the thrill of attacking large bomber formations head-on and the terror of taking off amid the
bullets of low flying Mustangs. Download DCS: Fw 190 A-8 Horrido! Campaign (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/campaigns/fw_190_a-8_horrido%21_campaign/) by Reflected Simulations now.

Weekend News09 October 2020
Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends,
We are currently working on improving AI logic and in particular Air to Air combat behaviour.
This results in a revised set of combat rules and more human-like outcomes while in offensive
and defensive maneuvers.
The new World War II airframe Damage Model will now take into account more detailed principles
such as: load-bearing elements, their material, control systems, electrical systems, geometric
dimensions and explosive characteristics of various ammunition types.
Raven One is a new DCS World Campaign developed with help from former U.S Navy pilots,
both with over 3,000 career flight hours and numerous overseas deployments.
Download it now on Steam and our Eshop.
Thank you for your passion and support.
Yours sincerely,
Eagle Dynamics Team
Air Combat
New Features
Our improved AI will encompass variable decision making protocols dependent on a continuously
calculated environment in order to enhance fight/disengage/run behaviour. The AI will make
emergency landing decisions on land or water (ditch), it can also react in case of sudden attacks
even if the attacker is not visible. If there is light damage, it will attempt to evade the ‘unseen
attack’ and search for the attacker. When damage is more serious, it will evade and RTB where
and when possible. Potentially the damage can be too high and the only solution is bailing out.
Damage Model
Development Progress
Closed beta testing is now in final stages as we plan to release for public testing at the end of
this month. The new damage model will also be integrated into WWII AI bombers.
Each aircraft has unique hydraulics, pneumatic and electrical systems and materials. As a result,
the predicted damage depends on the type of munition, munition velocity dependent on distance
and location of impact. The internal effects such as engine/radiator damage, coolant or oil tempe-
rature variation, loss of pressure, loss of control or other effects will generate the corresponding
internal and/or external visual effects.
We have deployed this technology to all our World War II fighters, and we trust that the long wait
will be worth it and we hope that it will be to your demanding expectations.
Check our latest In Development screenshots.
Raven One
By Baltic Dragon
This campaign has been developed by our third party partner Baltic Dragon in close cooperation
with two experienced former Hornet pilots: Vincent Aiello, host of the Fighter Pilot Podcast, and
Kevin Miller, author of the Raven One trilogy. Throughout 15 missions and 2200 custom voiceovers;
get into the boots of James ‘Flip’ Wilson of the VFA-64 Ravens squadron and fly memorable sorties
that closely resemble real life procedures and operations.

GBU-38
Development Report

https://forums.eagle.ru/filedata/fetch?id=7114788&d=1603413725&type=thumb (https://forums.eagle.ru/filedata/fetch?id=7114788&d=1603413725&type=thumb)

The key feature for this updated JDAM is the new autopilot. This weapon now incorporates enhanced
trajectory laws and provides the capability of programming for an impact with a specific terminal heading
and vertical angle. These options are designed to improve weapon effectiveness depending on the type
of target. The graph below demonstrates this effect.

Effect of desired terminal vertical angle on GBU-38 bomb path

https://forums.eagle.ru/filedata/fetch?id=7114790&d=1603413722&type=thumb (https://forums.eagle.ru/filedata/fetch?id=7114790&d=1603413722&type=thumb)

Due to aerodynamic restrictions precise impact points are not always possible, in this case, JDAM uses
an algorithm to check the impact heading and vertical angle. If the check indicates a noticeable miss,
the algorithm will seek for conditions that will allow for an on target hit. In addition, to reduce the probability
of a near miss and to improve ballistics penetration, the autopilot will command a zero angle of attack during
the last seconds of flight.

Viper AGM-65
Updates

https://forums.eagle.ru/filedata/fetch?id=7114789&d=1603413729&type=thumb (https://forums.eagle.ru/filedata/fetch?id=7114789&d=1603413729&type=thumb)

We encountered a target lock issue with objects in close proximity to the desired enemy. Symbology errors
on the WPN page will be fixed in the next update. The seeker depression angle markers are currently being
adjusted as well as the Sensor of Interest (SOI).

In the next Open Beta update, the addition of the BSGT option and uncage ability will be added. The LOS
handoff indication on HUD can also be expected. The possibility to engage target lock with two missiles
prior to launching the first will also become available. It will be possible to ripple fire two locked-on missiles
with RP 2 option. We are also working on the TMS-right re-command handoff.

30 October 2020

Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends,

This week we are pleased to share some new features for DCS: F/A-18C Hornet coming in next Open Beta.
We are finalising work on the data link information that displays friendly, unknown and hostile air contacts to
the Helmet Mounted Display. Once completed, we will also add the Air-to-Ground mode.

We would like to share the current development progress of DCS: Mariana Islands. The civilian building
assets have been finalised and we are currently working on finalising airfields and military installations,
including storage bunkers, radars and hangars.

We kindly remind you this is your last chance to get DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer Upgrade for only $9.99.
Check out the new updates in the DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer November Update (https://youtu.be/mvM8X0AL1PU).

Thank you for your passion and support.

Yours sincerely,

Eagle Dynamics Team

F/A-18C Hornet
New Features

https://forums.eagle.ru/filedata/fetch?id=7121803&d=1604074599
https://forums.eagle.ru/core/image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAPABAP///wAAACH5BAEKAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAICRAEAOw==

The new GRID function will allow you to edit and create waypoints using coordinates,
this is particularly useful when working with a JTAC. The new Azimuth / Elevation (AZ/EL)
air-to-air radar page will display contacts and their relative elevation. Later, we will add the
automatic-IFF and FLIR elements to this page.

We are also working on the ground effect for the Hornet and have corrected lofting for the HARM.
A bug when using IR-maverick for the first time has also been resolved as well as many more improvements.

Guam
Development Progress

https://forums.eagle.ru/filedata/fetch?id=7121804&d=1604074613

Real geographic data is used to create the initial topography layer and road networks.
The placement of civilian housing assets and vegetation is now also complete.
We encourage you to check out the In Development Screenshots. (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/screenshots/572/)

Antonio B. Won Pat airport in Guam is now in its final stages. We are also working on the
Andersen Air Force base. We look forward to sharing more information in the new year.

A-10C II
Tank Killer Upgrade

https://forums.eagle.ru/filedata/fetch?id=7121805&d=1604074631

After recent improvements to the exterior sound effects, the cockpit has also been tuned.
The updates will become available as part of our next Open Beta Update on the 4th of November.

F/A-18C
Hornet

https://forums.eagle.ru/filedata/fetch?id=7121806&d=1604074657

In addition to the improvements on the A-10C flight model, our team has also been working on
DCS: F/A-18C Hornet and DCS: F-16C Viper.

F-16C
Viper

https://forums.eagle.ru/filedata/fetch?id=7121807&d=1604074678

We understand that the targeting pod and pre-planned mode of the Maverick is not working as desired.
This is not a malfunction of either the targeting pod or Maverick, but rather the Sensor Point of Interest
(SPI) logic in the Viper. This is a high priority for the team to address, but it will not be ready for the
November Open Beta update. However, the next update will include a significant improvement to
ground handling, non-PRE mode Maverick improvements, refinements to the HARM, and more.

Both of these modules have a massive 30% Halloween Sale 2020 discount. We hope this will give you
a chance to kick start your learning of these complex weapon systems.

Thank you again for your passion and support.

Dear Fighter Pilots, partners and friends,:listening_headphone

Migration to a new and improved forum engine is due, all forum services will be offline for
24 hours on Monday, November 30th. We apologise for any inconvenience but we are
confident that the change is for the best. Thank you for your understanding.

This week we would like to share development progress on DCS: Syria by our third party
developers Ugra Media. Check out the In Development Screenshots (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/screenshots/), they look wonderful.

Recently, new missions for DCS: Fw 190 A-8 Anton and DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora have
been added to the Persian Gulf map. These fictional missions provide a great way to
practice WWII aircraft bombing. As you are aware, all terrains are currently on sale
during the DCS World Autumn Sale 2020, ending on the 7th of December at 15:00 GMT.

Thank you for your passion and support.

Yours sincerely,

As you may be aware, in the last month we updated our forum software. The update caused some
unforeseen disruptions and we apologise for any inconveniences.

On Monday, we will make a major improvement by migrating to a new IPS-based forum engine.
This is being done to iron out bugs in the current forum and to accommodate user traffic whilst
taking advantage of mobile viewing without the need for additional software.

Please note that if you are not able to login, you will have to request a password reset. If you
can login, no further action is required.

BBCode is a legacy markup language that was originally designed to allow users to submit rich
content prior to the advancement of WYSIWYG editors. BBCode will not be supported in the
new forum. All posts with deprecated BBCode will be converted over the next 3 days and after
that, all BBCode support will be switched off forever. markup is not
supported by IPS, this BBCode content can not be converted automatically and will not show.

Ugra Media is currently increasing DCS: Syria to a massive 800x600 km map size. The addition
of 18 airfields is also in progress. The final version of DCS: Syria will have a total of 51 airfields
including the United States Air Force base at Incirlik, the Russian Air Force base at Latakia,
and the Royal Airforce bases on the island of Cyprus.

Fw 190
Lone Wolf Raid RAF Luqa (Fictional)

https://forums.eagle.ru/filedata/fetch?id=7154722&d=1606473219 (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/terrains/)

As a Lone Wolf Anton, you are to carry out a bombing raid on RAF Luqa airfield. Your primary
target is an aircraft pan, housing Spitfires being readied to defend the island. You are armed
with a bomb and air-to-ground ammunition belts to destroy the aircraft on the pan. Be prepared
for potential interception. Good Luck!

Four new Instant Action missions are now available for the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 on DCS: Persian Gulf (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/terrains/persiangulf_terrain/).
These missions provide a great environment and use our latest mission editor features.

Thank you again for your passion and support,

Dear Fighter Pilots, partners and friends, We hope that you will enjoy our new forum engine and that it will significantly improve communication quality and access to resources. Thank you in advance for bearing with us whilst we fix any persisting concerns and bugs. We are actively working on the GBU-24 laser guided bomb as well as the AGM-84K SLAM-ER land attack missile. In addition to these new weapons, we are also finalising advanced modes for the AGM-88C HARM and AGM-84D Harpoon for DCS: F/A-18C Hornet. We would also like to take this opportunity to share our progress on new 3D modern era assets that will be added to DCS World core. Thank you for your passion and support. GBU-24 Paveway IIIThe GBU-24 is a 2,000 lbs-class laser-guided bomb with general purpose and penetrator warheads. It hasadvanced guidance over the Paveway II bombs and provides extended N range, maneuverability, and attack flexibility. It is designed to defeat high-value, protected targets. The Paveway III is planned for release in December 2020.

https://forums.eagle.ru/uploads/monthly_2020_12/hero3.png.e73fb427a1cbfdaef67ac5efdac54f4d.png (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/screenshots/)

AGM-84KThe SLAM-ER is the next land-attack cruise missile coming to the Hornet. Unlike the current AGM-84E SLAM, the SLAM-ER has greater range, a more advanced terminal seeker, a multi-steerpoint navigation system, stealthier radar cross section, as well as greater accuracy when human-in-the-loop guidance is not used. Unlike the GBU-24, the SLAM-ER has much greater range and the ability to alter terminal targeting. We are also developing the enhanced data link video transmission for these greater distances which we plan to deliver early next year. AGM-88C HARMIn addition to the current Self Protect (SP) and Target of Opportunity (TOO) HARM modes, we will be adding the Pre-Briefed (PB) mode later this month. This attack mode targets a geographic location and attempts to engage hostiles within range. Because the range is known, the HARM can be lofted and thus giving it greaterrange than SP and TOO modes. AGM-84D HarpoonWe will soon be adding the SEA mode to the Hornet’s radar. This will be an effective tool to acquire and engage moving naval targets. The Harpoon can take advantage of known target azimuth and range to use the Range/Bearing Launch (R/BOL) mode for more accurate attacks.

We are currently finalising the ST68U mobile three-coordinates radar station (Tin Shield NATO classification). This unit was designed to detect and track low-altitude targets in active and passive interference in the presence of intense reflections from the ground and in adverse weather conditions. It is in service with many CIS countries and the former Warsaw Pact countries.

This is a seriously updated BTR-80 model. The armoured personnel carrier is equipped with the 30-mm 2A72 cannon and has been realised with the troop compartment. BTR-82A is actively used in Syria during patrols by the military police.

Over the course of the Early Access period, we have been able to fine tune the unique hydraulics, oil, electrical systems, and flight model of the Jug.. We believe that this is our best World War II fighter to date and that it sets a new standard for all our future World War II aircraft.

DCS: P-47D Thunderbolt was used extensively to test and tune our new Damage Model update. It provided a stable platform for general bug-fixing and creating engine damage effects caused by overheating and poor engine management.

We have simulated almost all aspects of this aircraft to create the most accurate representation possible for PC. Don’t miss the last chance to benefit from the 20% Early Access discount (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/products/planes/thunderbolt/) and enjoy one of the most loved and iconic allied fighters of the second world war.

The ZSU-57-2 is a Soviet Self-Propelled Anti-Aircraft Gun (SPAAG) with twin S-68 57-mm autocannons that are recoil-operated. It supplements the shorter-range 23-mm gun systems like the ZU-23 and ZSU-23-4. These two 57-mm cannons have a range of 20,000 feet and a far larger blast radius.

DCS 2.5.6.59398 Open Beta (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/changelog/openbeta/2.5.6.59398/)
Introduced multi-crew for DCS UH-1H Huey.
Added the ability to play with multi-crew for the UH-1H. Up to four crewstation are available for cooperative play: pilot, co-pilot, left gunner and right gunner (if they are added in missions). Added multi-crew missions for the UH-1H helicopter.
Known Issues during playing with multi-crew:

Possible desynchronization of the state (visualization) of the helicopter in case of damage and when requesting ground power before engine start.
When leaving the crewstation of the left (right) gunner into the spectators and back, the gunner's body-model may disappear.
There may be problems in the cockpit with controls that have axis settings commands (knobs for adjusting the volume, setting the altitude, etc.), if the controls is intended for another crewstation.
There is no visualization of the cargo mark on the cargo indicator (cargo position display).

From Kate Perederko (dotrugirl) on Discord:

1. Stable version will be updated in the coming days, before the holidays (Dec 31 -- Jan 10 in Russia).

2. The AH-64D (2002) will be developed, but the Early Access version will be closer to the AH-64A in terms of features. Radar is not yet confirmed ("it's a secret").

3. According to Kate, the new clouds are "already optimized" (you won't need the 3080 to run it). They will be released in multiple stages: 1. Presets only (release date - with the 2.6, "as soon as possible", "we're almost there", "no, not 'in two weeks' - more like 'in two months'") 2. Configurable weather 3. Dynamic weather. Apparently, the new clouds will be synced in multiplayer at stage 1 already.

4. No Tornado for DCS: no data in open sources, and the aircraft's manufacturer denied ED's purchase requests.

5. Afghanistan map is quite possible (DCS already has a lot of relevant units for this setting). Vietnam map - rather no than yes. Cuba - no. Overall, ED doesn't have any definite plans regarding future maps.

6. ED is going to "take away" all bombs and rockets from the 3rd party devs (weapons will be developed internally).

7. The development of the clickable Mig-29 9-12 will start after the Black Shark 3.

8. Dynamic Campaign will be given to beta testers in the first half of 2021. It's already playable, but users should not expect anything breathtaking at start. This will be a long continuous work.

9. No World War 1 in DCS, it's not even planned.

10. Mi-24 has been postponed from the initial "Autumn 2020" release because ED wanted to create the multi-crew subsystem first. The module is not quite ready for release yet, but there's "light at the end of the tunnel". AI co-pilot for Mi-24 will have name (like Jester), but "it's a secret".

11. Kate promised to personally hold all future modules (including the Mi-24) from being released half-baked. They don't want to repeat the Viper's fiasco.

14. Caucasus map will NOT be expanded to include detailed Ukrainian & Crimean territories.

15. Marianas map will first be released in modern version. WWII variant will follow. Development of this map has been slowed down because of the COVID.

16. Combined Arms 2 is on hold, all devs are busy elsewhere.

17. F-4 will be developed, eventually, but probably by a 3rd party dev. No particular model has been picked yet.
18. Me.262 is NOT in the works.
19. Mig-27 is NOT in the works. Not planned neither.
20. AH-1 - "not yet".
21. WWII Zero from ED - "probably" (in the internal wishlist).
22. Soviet WWII planes - not planned. When asked about La-7, teased by OctopusG this Summer, Kate replied "I don't know anything about it".
23. No immediate plans to release more naval helos & planes, E-2 or C-2.

24. ED can't yet figure out how to merge multiple maps into one (e.g. Normandy and The Channel).
25. Kate promised to personally deal with the Mirage's radar problem (https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/231000-ed-issue-mirage-2000-antenna-elevation-bug-tdc-innacuracy-in-ppi/).
26. ED think they found a way to solve paratroopers and AI pathfinding issues.
27. No immediate plans to make the T-72B3 user-controllable.
28. The new ground ATC is still at the very early stages of development.
29. ED doesn't really want to add civilian air traffic in DCS, because "we're military sim".
30. ED will not allow 3rd party devs to officially create the Su-57 module for DCS.
31. DCS merchandise - "more info early next year".

Interesting. I do appreciate the very frank "What is Not going to be done" versus speculation and their holding releases until they're mostly done (usable). It's just a better business model in general. It may mean we're going to wait longer but that is fine by me.

***weekend news***
Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, https://forums.eagle.ru/uploads/emoticons/pilotfly.gif

We hope that the year has started well and that you have taken full advantage of the free to fly period. Thank you.

With the enormous changes in technology and the broad improvements we are planning, please be aware that Windows 7 will no longer be supported as of the release of DCS World 2.7 which we hope to be releasing in the coming months. We will of course be informing you well in advance when a firm date is finalised.

This week, we would like to take the opportunity of sharing development progress on DCS: The Channel. We are working on the final touches to Biggin Hill and Eastchurch airfields as well as Headcorn and High Halden Advance Landing Grounds. In addition to the existing 120 World War II missions we are working on a wide variety of new and exciting missions and campaigns which should be released in the coming weeks. These high quality missions should provide you with excellent immersion and will test your skills.

Thank you for your passion and support.

Yours sincerely,

Eagle Dynamics Team

The latest addition to the Channel map will be the fighter base that protected South East England from Luftwaffe bombers during the Battle of Britain. Over the course of the war, fighters based at Biggin Hill claimed thousands of enemy aircraft, at the cost of hundreds of aircrew lives.

Please note that DCS: The Channel (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/products/terrains/the_channel_terrain/) will soon be moving to Release state. Ground Moving Target (GMT) Radar Mode
Locating ground targets can be a difficult task, an important tool that can assist you is the Ground Moving Target (GMT) Air-to-Ground (A-G) radar mode. When enabled, this mode detects moving ground units and allows you to designate them for tracking. Note that GMT will not detect stationary targets.

When paired with the AGM-65F Maverick and laser-guided bombs, GMT can be a useful tool for detecting, tracking, and engaging mobile targets.

SEA Radar Mode
Whilst the general MAP Air-to-Ground radar mode has been available for some time, we will soon introduce the SEA A-G mode. This mode allows the radar to detect and track ships out to 80 nm. This is particularly useful for engaging ships using the AGM-84D Harpoon anti-ship missiles with specific range and bearing targeting. SEA mode can also be interleaved to display MAP ground returns.

Instruction Video: SEA Radar Mode (https://youtu.be/Pmx_pLbgKEo)

When a target has been designated in SEA mode, the targeting pod can also be slaved to the target.

Defensive Systems Update
We are pleased to announce several new defensive features planned for the next update. These include the addition of Semi/Automatic (S/A) and AUTO expendable countermeasure programs, the Airborne Self-Protection Jammer (ASPJ), and jammer effects on the radar.

Transmit Designate
We’ll be adding the Transmit Designate (TXDSG) option on the Situational Awareness (SA) display. When enabled, it allows you to transmit suits to ground designation points and Launch & Steering (L&S) targets for flight members and friendly aircraft on the same Link-16 network.

Tinian Island
Introduction

https://forums.eagle.ru/uploads/monthly_2021_02/EN_Hero2.png.3e89578454cff8f56db53202627d38ef.png (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/screenshots/)

Tinian is located approximately 1,500 miles (2,400 kilometres) from mainland Japan, and was chosen as the suitable staging base for continuous heavy bomber attacks on the Japanese Islands. Immediately after the island's seizure by the US in the summer of 1944, construction began on the largest air base in the Pacific region, covering almost the entire island.

https://forums.eagle.ru/uploads/monthly_2021_02/EN_Hero3.png.ea77698f938934bbe4c683b521842e42.png (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/screenshots/)

The four runways at North Field were lettered "A", "B", "C" and "D" from north to south and were said to resemble the deck of a busy aircraft carrier.

The North Field airbase was the first loading and launching point for the atomic bomb attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan. At the end of WWII the base was placed in a standby status and officially closed in March, 1947.

https://forums.eagle.ru/uploads/monthly_2021_02/EN_Hero4.png.866fcdefe2590c492a9c0982feb06417.png (https://forums.eagle.ru/uploads/monthly_2021_02/EN_Hero4.png.866fcdefe2590c492a9c0982feb06417.png)

Tinian International Airport is a public airport originally constructed by the Japanese during WWII with two parallel runways. It was subsequently repaired by the Americans, and then called West Field. Tinian airport now covers an area of 1,416 acres (573 ha) with one of the runways measuring 8,600 x 150 ft (2,621 x 46 m).

In May 2012, the United States Marine Corps VMFA-121 operated its F/A-18D Hornets from the airport using M-31 aircraft carrier arresting gear systems. This airport is now owned by Commonwealth Ports Authority.

Another big installation on the island - Robert E Kamosa Transmitting Station. The antenna curtain array along the central west coast of the island is a class of large multi element wire radio transmitting antennas, used in the shortwave radio bands. Suspended by supporting wires and strung between pairs of steel towers up to 300 ft (90 m) tall. These antennas are used by international shortwave radio stations to broadcast at transcontinental distances.

Rota Island
Introduction
https://forums.eagle.ru/uploads/monthly_2021_03/EN_Hero2.jpg.92359dcfac5a697c1aefe4c434917416.jpg (https://forums.eagle.ru/uploads/monthly_2021_03/EN_Hero2.jpg.92359dcfac5a697c1aefe4c434917416.jpg)
Rota Island is the smallest of the populated islands and the second southernmost island of the Marianas archipelago. Despite the fact that the island had a small Japanese garrison of more than 2000 men during WWII, American troops never invaded it. It was however bombed occasionally by the U.S Navy in attempts to silence Japanese warning transmissions about B-29 Superfortress bomber attacks.
https://forums.eagle.ru/uploads/monthly_2021_03/EN_Hero3.jpg.35dac05b652e7aab20f3aac11d3ba781.jpg (https://forums.eagle.ru/uploads/monthly_2021_03/EN_Hero3.jpg.35dac05b652e7aab20f3aac11d3ba781.jpg)
Sinapalo village is the biggest settlement in the island and features Rota International Airport. The single runway was built and manned by the Japanese until the U.S Navy bombed it into disuse at the end of WWII. In September of 1945, the airfield was renovated and extended an impressive 5,000ft to serve as an emergency landing strip.

The Songsong village on the island of Rota is located along the southwestern part of the island. The village has a population of less than 1,000 inhabitants and boasts a recognisable landmark known as Wedding Cake mountain, Mt. Tinubal. The layered rock and capes have been recreated in detail to include the natural dips of volcanic rock structures and the gentle sloping forms of the limestone plateau in the North part of the island.

***Weekend News***

19 March 2021

Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends,

Today, we are pleased to announce the Early Access features for DCS: Mosquito FB Mk.VI. The Mosquito will be optimised for multi-crew and will be the first two manned, twin-engined WWII aircraft in DCS World. Please have a look at the In Development Screenshots (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/screenshots/572/).

The main weapon control system features for DCS: Mi-24P Hind have now been completed. We have also connected and finalised the interior and exterior sounds from the engines, systems and rotors. Pre-orders will soon be commencing and we would like to share our on-going tasks.

Check out the cooperation between Reflected Simulations and Tomcat officer, 'Bio' Baranek in the DCS: F-14 Zone 5 Campaign by Reflected Simulations (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/campaigns/f-14a_zone_5_campaign/). If you are interested in becoming a campaign creator for DCS World, check out our forum for more details (https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/214080-campaign-developer-information-getting-started/?tab=comments#comment-214511).

Thank you for your passion and support.

Mossie
Early Access

https://forums.eagle.ru/uploads/monthly_2021_03/Hero1.png.1daca721812edada0cb7fe72ae47c65c.png (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/screenshots/)

All systems and components have been modelled in excruciating detail and include the recent cooling system updates that were made to DCS: P-47D Thunderbolt.

Early Access Features;

High-quality external 3D model
6 Degree of Freedom fully clickable cockpit with latest visual effects
Flight Dynamics based on official reports, our own CFD research and pilot feedback
Full Fuel system and optional external tanks
Full electrical system
Full hydraulic and pneumatic system
Propeller feathering

Early Access Armament:

4 British Browning .303 machine guns
4 Hispano 20mm guns
250lbs and 500lbs bombs in the bomb bay and under each wing

https://forums.eagle.ru/uploads/monthly_2021_03/Hero2.png.4d814a887fda84559e7213234e73f189.png (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/screenshots/)

The damage model for the Mossie considers the internal wood structure of the airplane and uses each internal element of the aircraft - oil, air, hydraulic and cooling systems, engine, throttle, trim, and the airframes main strength spars and stringers to calculate the visual damage.

We are now able to consider all these factors, which in turn enables us to more accurately simulate damage to the airframe and the effects on the flight model. For example, damage to the wing skin will lead to a decrease in the lift and cause more drag, damage to the spar will cause strength reduction and potentially wing snap under certain strains.

We look forward to sharing further progress, please check out In Development Screenshots.

When the Mossie becomes available in Early Access, we will be considering feedback from the community and working on the next stages of development.

Features coming after Early Access:

Rockets armament
Radio units T1154 (transmitter) & R1155 (receiver)
The historical accurate navigation system for WWII aircraft
Controllable AI navigator and radio operator

Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, https://uploads.mudspike.com/original/3X/e/8/e8b64e8da72d3e86db63aa5ce6e7ebc866bc513a.gif
We are pleased to announce two new multiplayer features for DCS: Supercarrier. These will be available in the coming update of DCS World 2.7.0 and will offer the ability for human LSOs to control the ‘cut lights’ and ‘wave off lights’ for network players on approach. All our main updates to DCS: Supercarrier are also being worked on and their release is planned for Q3 2021. These enhancements include the Air boss and his ops station, detailed briefing room and PLAT camera along with many other improvements.
This week we would like to show you some of the progress being made on Guam. As well as allround fine tuning, we are currently working on night lighting, in particular along the roads. The map has been in internal testing for a while and we are finalising verification of airfield functionality, checking for topographic anomalies and correcting graphic inconsistencies and glitches. We feel that we are getting very close. Please do take a look at some of the details below.
We recognise that you are champing at the bit for the release of 2.7 and in particular looking forward to enjoying the new clouds. We feel the same way but we want to take all necessary measures required to deliver this new build with a minimum number of issues and so we are working overtime to bring you the best we can. We sincerely apologise for the delay.
Thank you for patience, understanding and for your passion and support. Happy Easter!
Yours sincerely,
Eagle Dynamics Team

The 3D Air Boss (PriFly) station will come with the possibility to control deck flood lights, the speed and direction of the carrier, and monitor the PLAT camera. In addition, we will implement launch and recovery operations from the Air Boss (PriFly) via 5MC messages.

The 3D Briefing Room will offer interactive squadron meeting capability. This is particularly interesting for multiplayer action, pre-mission start and for after action review. Our Integrated Voice Chat will also allow real-time coms with your squadron. An interactive map, PLAT camera, Greenie and Kill boards will provide simultaneous online statistics during mission progression. Each pilot seat in the briefing room includes an interactive tablet that will allow you to control the fueling and arming of your aircraft.

With 540 km2, Guam is the largest and most populated island of the Marianas archipelago. It lies about 5,800 miles (9,300 km) west of San Francisco and 1,600 miles (2,600 km) east of Manila.
The Chamoru people settled on the island approximately 3,500 years ago and were essentially disconnected from the rest of the world until the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan discovered the island on March 6, 1521. Guam was subsequently colonized by Spain more than a century later in 1668. During the Spanish–American War, the United States captured Guam on June 21, 1898. On December 8, 1941, hours after the attack on Pearl Harbor, Guam was captured by the Japanese, who occupied the island for two and a half years. American forces recaptured the island on July 21, 1944. Since the 1960s, Guam’s economy has been supported primarily by tourism and the U.S. military, for which Guam is a major strategic asset.

When arriving in Guam, one of the first things you will see is “Antonio B. Won Pat International”. Originally built by the Japanese during the occupation, it became a base for the USAAF B-24 “Liberator” bombers in 1944-45. In 1947, the USAAF turned over the airfield to the United States Navy, who operated it as Naval Air Station Agana until 1995. Civilian use of the airport began in 1967 when the International terminal was opened. From this time onwards, the airport has been reconstructed and upgraded many times in order to cope with the growing air traffic and passenger requirements.

Guam is a multi-ethnic island with a current population of more than 160,000 people. The island is divided into 19 municipal villages and required the terrain team to develop a large number of new and adapted ground assets. With tourism being the most prominent component of the island’s economy, there are a lot of hotels and golf courses dotted along Tumon Bay.
