Hiya Marty,

I used to dabble a bit in recoloring B&W images. Back in the olden days before there was GoogleEarth there used to be a website named TeraServer, it was run by MS I believe. I used to download B&W images of the American SW and recolor them using PaintShopPro7.

I imagine you can probably still score a cheap copy of PSP7 on Amazon.

If you want free I would suggest using a freebie image program called GIMP (https://www.gimp.org/). I have never intensively used it but am pretty sure you can do most of the same image manipulations with GIMP as you can with PSP7.

I highly recommend PSP7

Here is an example of the recoloring possible with PSP7:

PS: just checked at Amazon. Yes there are still copies of Jasc PSP7 available. I think Version 7 was the last version made by Jasc before the brand was sold to Corel. It became a slightly different animal after that.

That's amazing what you can do with PSP 7. I have both PSP 7 and X3 versions. I use PSP 7 most of the time.

You can download it free at: http://www.oldversion.com/windows/paint-shop-pro/

Have PSP6. May still have PSP7 some place. PSP6 and PSP7 were the same for me over all.
