I have a annoying problem with my PTO Solomons install. I have installed the Japanese pilot add on and when a Japanese pilot is selected he shows up fine but after QC or free flight he shows up as an American pilot. Tried all i can to solve problem but don't know what to do next. This has been a problem for years and no one has ever helped me with this. Has anyone ever encountered the same problem ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards,Scott PS I don't have this problem with PTO Rising Sun.

Hi Scott, the first files I would check are all of the country.xml, vs the info in the two unlimitedpilots.xml files - the one in the root location and the one in the AppData folder. I have had problems of slight corruption where the pilot information is inconsistent. Don't forget the country list in the default file in the Campaign folder too (as speciified in the game.xml file) - to check consistency with the country.xml countries. Also, the pilotconstants.xml has a section where it lists the countries that are available for use in QC mode, this might be corrupt, too.

HTH, a bit of comparison work to do! Once all of that is consistent, (no extra/stray countries you don't want, etc) then check your uisel.xml in the Appdata folder and either edit it or delete it.

Checked files as best i could and found a problem with unlimited pilots .xml in one Japan IJN name. Corrected this and squadron name and deleted uisel file. Problem still persists .:banghead: Checked the other files mentioned but not sure what i'm looking at. Any ideas ? Regards,Scott

Hi Scott,

Does the pilot still appear in the Japanese list but takes on the appearance of an US pilot after the first flight? If this is what's happening it maybe that you have two texture files with the same name; CFS3 will pick up a texture name in multiple folder locations. I'd do a search for the texture name that came with the addon Japanese pilot and see if you have more than one file with that name.

regards Rob.

That is exactly the case. I searched high and low and couldn't find any duplicates. Searched every file in the game folder. Thanks for the advice though. Regards,Scott
