Rainbow Canyon, a.k.a. "Star Wars Canyon", a.k.a. "The Jedi Transition". I always assumed it was called "Star Wars Canyon" because it reminded pilots of Luke Skywalker driving his X-Wing fighter through the Death Star's "canyon" to blow it up. But apparently it got the name because parts of the movie were filmed nearby. There are several great YouTube videos of jets going through there. I thought I'd see what it looks like in FSX. I was prepared to be disappointed, but in fact it's pretty cool. Then I had to try it... :)

Great vid, is that stock scenery? For those that want, the Sidewinder transition (which is the entire route) through R-2508 can be found online.

Ahh, that's what all the "Sidewinder" calls on the radio are... It's FSGlobal terrain mesh, but otherwise stock scenery. Also have Orbx FTX North America installed, which may have altered the textures some.

Very cool! My favourite canyon running the Fraser River canyon which runs north from Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. Here's a short clip of what it's like. The entire canyon takes 20 to 30 minutes to fly, and is exhausting if you try to keep within 80 to 100 feet above the water!
