Not my favorite by any means but it is really quick.
Might keep it over the Summer!

Meh. Just a fancy VW. :a1310: It's like sitting on a roller skate.

Compared to the 73 RSR she's a 'point and squirt' missile, if I try and push through corners she does her best to try and kill me!
Fortunately there are a couple of cashed up not very bright buyers keen to discuss buying the car...........:pirate:

A 930, very nice! 3.0 or 3.3?

Ferry, she is a 1983 930 3.3 turbo.....was a very sad car when we bought her from a Deceased Estate.
Shut up in a garage which wasn't exactly weather proof and ignored for (I think) 10+ years.
The running gear was pretty good all things considered but the dreaded rust rot had set in and required some fancy surgery to cut out and replace with nice new metal.
I'm very proud of the finished paint as I took that job on this time round!
We couldn't resist a few engine tweaks......the original 3.3 capacity is somewhere around 3.3+ a bit.

Wombat,
I remember when you showed those "first purchase" images.....Looking absolutely pristine now!

At times I make decisions that really make me question my sanity!
As we are in Mid-Summer and it is really hot the closed car is not comfortable at all, no air con! :banghead:
It occurred to me that our unloved 911E Targa Sportmatic (the reason it's unloved I hasten to add!) was in need of some road time.
Returned the 930 to her spot in the shed, unwrapped the Targa and motored home enjoying the wind in my hair.
Nice drive if you let the 'Sportmatic' do its thing and resist the impulse to take over and try to drive it like a 'Manual'.
Day one and I was very pleased with myself.

Day two I was not a happy person...................it started raining early and progressed from showers to monsoonal downpours!!!!!!!!
I'll be heading back to the shop to find the best of the hard inserts we have tucked away as the rag top is almost a waste of effort and the insert pictured let some precipitation in.
Nice on a sunny Summer day just the same but not a car I'd want to own.

Still preferable to driving the Turbo in the rain! :biggrin-new:
