ATC ID dispalyed on exterior?

I would like to display the ATC ID on the exterior of the Vans RV-3 model by Giles Arlove. The fuselage textures are simply mirrors so painting the N numbers on the side doesn't help. I can see the ATC ID on the instrument panel but not the exterior. Is that controlled by some part of the model file? Can I use a hex editor to activate/ enable the external presentation? are you meaning the registration info ? thats not hard but you have to paint it on!

I think its actually done via a gauge, the default C172 has it, as do many of Bill Lyons' add-ons.

It's not a gauge, but a special texture. It has to be defined in the model by the dev, so it's not something that can be added afterwards.

Not if the textures are mirrored, as was clearly stated in the initial post.
