Over time I hasve been modifying these facilities for RAF BC night bombing but now testing some for additional effects such as smoke after raids during the daytime. This is one of my first serious attemps. What I have found irritating is that the London terrain is very patchy with a lot of fields in the middle of London! Maybe I have the wrong terrain files?

Anyway here are a couple of pics. Dan and Clive's work is the basis for my attempts here.

You can almost smell that smoke!

Your scenery isn't ETO or BoB James. Does look good though. :)

Should be ETO? What folders/files should I change?

Well testing in the actual BoB install does at least show a better London. Not sure why the ack ack is trying to shoot a Hurricane down though.

Terrain filles??

Ok I found out the issue with my terrain. For some reason I seem to have got an inappropriate assets folder, since swaping it out with another install did the trick. One thing I dislike in both terrains is the pop up trees!:banghead: So far no one has told me how to get rid of them!

EDIT: Well since I have been rebuilding my assets folder, I seem to have got rid of that problem' for now at least!

Having sorted out my assets folder, I have been experimenting making fire/smoke city targets based on various ETO_City_target facilities which are a 3000m x 3000m grid. I've found plotting the various size fire-smoke and smoke column types on graph paper is a great visual help to get layouts. I will be doing various daytime and night time versions over time! This is a 2nd version. There are 2 of the same facility on each side of the Thames as I wanted to see how far away they were visible.
