Thursday afternoon: Sun shining, good waves at Cairns Bay so I decided to go for a few rides the following day at 'our' Gunamatta surf beach.

Friday at Gunamatta: No way was I going in that! My younger surfie friends retired quietly! Even the Gulls were walking.

Nice images! And some memories.

The last time we were there during the same time of year, landing in Melbourne, we came from Shanghai and experienced a real temperature shock. Temps were well under 10° C. I rented a mobile home, which, as it turned out, had no cabin heating except when driving. The nights were really cold in that thing, but we had our little boy (4 at that time) with us who was like a two legged heating boiler under the blankets.

By the time we had reached Sydney it was OK though, and up in Cape Tribulation we had our beloved tropical temps again :-)

Cheers,
Mark

A very traditional Port Philip beach-side Winter view.
A couple of decent storms on the Bay last week or two so I had to check if the sand was still there and my brother's 'Bathing Box' had remained upright.
It had.....the one with the yellow door.
