Yes, thanks for the pointer.
Always nice to browse the PAD site.
Today I also picked up a Dash8 I'd somehow missed previously.

I see PAD are still confusing the SD3-30 with the C23 Sherpa; despite having the 'twin tail' the Sherpa is a different base airframe/engine combination, they started out as 360's complete with PT6-67 engines and avionics upgrades,
which then had their tails cut off and the twin tail (with loading ramp) fitted.

SD3-30's never had the loading ramp, and only had PT6-45 engines

Nevertheless a long awaited addition.

I dunno Dan - I think the only part of that one that really bugs me is the scale. Put it into a MP session with other planes and it looks to be about about 50% too big. Other than that, she's lots of fun to drop over the ridge at TFFJ!

I can't let that go unchallenged Tom.

The PAD DHC6-300 is dimensioned correctly. I guess it will always be 50% bigger than some planes and 50% smaller than others.

Pic below shows PAD Twin Otter alongside a C208 in FS2004. Twin Otter wingspan 65ft, length 51ft. C208 wingspan 52ft 1", length 37 feet 7" Looks about right to me.

Bob

Good info! I guess some of the other planes I was looking at are really smaller than I suspected, or the Twotter is bigger than I realized. Either way, it's still a good island hopper!

Pete (Motormouse)

I suspect that PAD are not the only ones confused. Until I read your message, I had always assumed that the C-23 was based on the SD330. It looks the same, etc.

Ah well, many years after seeing my first C-23, I learnt something new today :jump:

Both Motormouse and Ianhind will be pleased to know that we have both the SD3-30 and the Sherpa currently in the works, ETA later this spring.

I can handle them, much better than the 'Payware' versions around, and I've tried most.
Some of the version/release numbers confuse me a bit, but that's just 'CRAFT Syndrome'.

Nice, just be sure to downrate the 330 (PT6A-45R), and the Sherpa should have the EFIS flight deck and 6-blade props to go with its' PT6-67R engines
