This is a very useful LUA script that adjusts LOD ranges for objects and clouds (almost literally) on the fly to attain a certain target FPS.
It does require a sensible base setup for the rendering options, but once you have that, the script very unobtrusively controls the datarefs for LOD ranges, cloud puffs, anti-aliasing, etc. to attain your target FPS. However, it's very configurable (by means of a setup wizard or total manual control) and easily adapts to your preferences.

I'm using it on my laptop to keep the framerate near 30, while on my desktop PC, it ensures maximum LOD range and cloud quality at FPS above 30.
By now, I'd consider it an essential add-on to make up for X-Plane's simplistic rendering option menu.

X-Plane 10 version:

X-Plane 11 version:

Requires FlyWithLUA.

This is great Bjoern... Thanks for HU

CG .... I had similar problems so re-read installation instructions on the download page

And noticed there are two other files you need... I'd missed one...also take careful note of where they go. Hope helps you as it did me.

Got LUA to finally work. Now another strange issue. Any of my aircraft all are having AP troubles holding anything and the AC's have a hard right issue. my X52 is fully configured.

Oh this is just to dang funny, now P3D and FSX controls are messed up lol. Time to break out the Human can of Whoop arse on the computer and Sims.
