Has something happened to SOH graphics?

On logging on to SOH in the usual manner, instead of the much loved light background with blue header, this is what the forum pages now look like :banghead:

Edit/update: Phew! Logged out, rebooted, then logged in - everything's back to normal! Wonder what happened there... :-/

If you look at the bottom left of the page on the blue bar (or dark bar), you will see display options.

I believe you were on the CFS display option.

As you can see by my details, I'm pretty new here. But I have been visiting (lurking if you want) the site for quite some time.

The last few days I have experienced a marked degradation in performance connectivity wise of SOH. Server not responding, server not available, and so forth.

I've tried with the following browsers (all of them the latest versions): Edge, IE, Firefox and Tor.

And what does that have to do with the original post ?

That fits right in with the problems I posted about in the FS2002/2004 forum a day or two ago. So it's not just me after all.

Mick,

I started a thread in the Admin forum with links to the threads in question. Hopefully we'll have an answer for you soon.

Normally, Ickie would say, "Clear your browser cache" then come back in. You may need to log out/in.

Milton,

I log in every time, and I have occasional problems with this, I also can no longer upload with Firefox at all, only Internet Exploder.

And in previous discussions with Mick, he says he did this as well, and I have no reason to doubt him.

I was only suggesting it as something to try.

I am using Firefox as well without issues.

Chrome is faster however.

Hello Penzoil3,

Your identity is generally via Cookies and if there is a communications hiccup when authentication data / cookies are being transferred, you might get whatever the default colour scheme is (CFC) rather than your preferred SOH scheme because the server doesn't know who you are.
I have also had a few glitches visiting this site but so far it has been just a timeout and a retry solves things or it does not. I haven't had any partial connections like it sounds like this was.

It has also been happening for much longer than a couple weeks.

- Ivan.

If you look closely he WAS on the FORUMS page, not the CFS1 Forum... That's Weird! All of the forums are listed there just as they are on the usual background of light blue and white.... Glad things are OK now, Nigel.

Ok, this is ONLY for those of you who are experiencing the unable to connect problem AND have Wireshark installed AND know how to capture a trace and save it to a file. I'm not asking anyone to install anything special just for this situation.

A Wireshark trace of the "conversation" between your browser and this site when you are experiencing this problem might be helpful to us in figuring out what's going on. It's a long shot, I know. You would have to have Wireshark up and running, ready for the problem to occur, then when "it happens", you would have to start the trace recording, do some clicking, and hope the problem didn't clear itself in the intervening seconds. It's what I've been doing a lot over the past few days, but I have not yet been able to duplicate this problem with any browser or operating system (Win7, Win10, Linux) at any time. So I'm getting desperate!
